Kimba Likes 2015 Wrap Up
Wow! What a year it has been. It has truly been a year of highs, tempered by some drama llama. Luckily, we have emerged from the lows stronger, more connected as a family and more in love as a couple. Awwww!
We had a visit from the Welshman’s parents, who haven’t been to Australia since we were married in 2002. So lovely to have them experience our day to day life. Plus we got to visit the Northern Territory – blown away at how gorgeous it is!
The Welshman has had a truly kickarse year in terms of his career. I’d love to tell you all about the massive project he’s heading up, but I’d have to kill you. However, by the end of 2017, I’ll be able to share the news. Suffice it to say that it is something that will change the way you go about an everyday task. I can’t wait!
Boyo overcame some personal challenges in the form of bullying by a family friend. The bully’s mother, a former friend, then bullied me. Sadly, role modelling doesn’t just have positive connotations.
He graduated from primary school with a fabulous school report, and a reputation as an honest, caring and all around fabulous kid. Yes, yes, I’m biased as his mother, but trust me. It’s true!
The highlight of my year? So many to choose from! I became a Business Mamas blog ambassador, as I study for a Diploma of Business and plan to launch my personal styling business next year. Feather & Noise named a frock after me – I know right?! I got a brand new car. I became a Sizeable Brand Ambassador. I’m sharing the love for luxe T shirts in my role as Ruby & Lilli brand representative.
Wardrobe Wednesday continues to be my most popular post of the week – turns out you love taking an international style tour as much as I do! Oh, and you’re rather fond of my tips, tricks and life hacks too! I’m loving checking out your Me Time Moments on Instagram for Kimba Likes Daily Treats.
However, my most amazing experience of 2015? Hands down, without a doubt, snowball’s chance in hell of it being anything else, kinda thing. It just has to be my hysterectomy and endometriosis surgery. My diagnosis in August was a relief – finally, I had a reason. Meeting the specialist of my dreams gave me a solution. The surgery came with some drama llama, but my recovery was far better than I was expecting – and I was optimistic.
I shared my story of diagnosis, procedure and recovery, and was so gratified by the gorgeous responses I received. So much advice and support from those who had been there, done that. I was able to assist others who were about to start their own recovery journey – nothing made me happier! Support and well wishes all around. Love that!
It’s been nearly 10 weeks since my surgery, and I’ve gone from strength to strength. I had a slight dip emotionally a couple of weeks ago as I adjusted to the hormonal changes, and the frustration of not being able to do quite everything just yet!
