A week of what I wore

I’m sharing a week inside my wardrobe – what I wore from a recent Monday to Sunday. Apparently, it was all about pants!

What I Wore | Monday

For my wedding anniversary, I wore a pretty Katies jacquard dress, teamed with a Boohoo khaki belted coat, Spanx indigo footless tights and Missoni for Target ballet flats.  My hairbow is from Summerblossom.

So easy to wear, and oh so versatile; I can see this dress being layered over long sleeve tops and jeggings in the winter.

Oh, and as for the Spanx tights? If you’re going to wear tights, why not make ’em Spanx and give yourself a little extra smoothing and support?  These tights are at least 5 years old now.  In terms of cost per wear, they’re better value than cheap supermarket tights that run and fall down!

What I Wore | Tuesday

For a casual day running errands, I teamed Country Road printed drape pants with an old Country Road butterfly sleeve top, and Jil Sander d’orsay black patent flats.

As a demonstration of how crazy sizing can be, my top is size XS and my pants are size 12.  Both from the same brand, and both seem to fit OK!

I accessorised with a pretty Jet Empire Jewellery Swarovski pearl necklace, Uberkate heart necklace, Honeydew & Violet Organic Halo Bangle and Mimco resin chain headband.

What I Wore | Wednesday

On Wednesdays, we wear pink!  I received a pair of Ruffle Waist Wide Leg Pants from Blue Bungalow, and decided to challenge myself by styling them for a casual day.

I’m not really a wide leg pant kind of girl.  Might be something to do with having wide legs?  Ha!

I teamed them with my Bohemian Traders Breton-style tee and pink Converse Chucks.   A nonchalant side tuck shows off the waistline and drapes flatteringly over the back.  I really loved this casual chic style.

What I Wore | Thursday

Freshly washed curls, print clash and party pocket pants for a busy day. Loving the fun print-clash-in-one-piece Party Pocket Pants from The Cult List. I’ve teamed them with Cobalt Boat Neck Le Breton from Popbasic, Lee Cooper denim vest from Big W and grey patent point toe flats from Witchery.

I accessorised with an 100% cotton printed scarf, a lovely gift from Blue Bungalow.  Unfortunately, I had a total drama llama event later that evening, when I forgot to remove my scarf before cooking and set it on fire.  I burnt a section of my hair, and blistered my fingers.  The scarf is no more, but thankfully I am.

A Ruby Olive bangle and Mimco sunglasses completed my look.

What I Wore | Friday

I felt a bit tired and emotional on this day, so I decided to dress up a little to make myself feel better. Works. Every. Time.

You know what else makes a girl feel better? Coffee with a girlfriend, followed by a quick thrift shop.  I picked up a very cute vintage fur pom pom scarf at my op shop on the walk home.  Oh and another coffee. You know how much I love my daily lattes!

I teamed a thrifted Country Road wrap blouse with Bohemian Traders Drop Crotch Pants, with a Bella Bodies Camyz Shaper underneath.  Kind of essential with a wrap blouse!

I accessorised with my Anizoe Alexia Clutch, Zara leopard ponyskin loafers (well worth the opening day queue!), my pom pom scarf and double pearl earrings for a little badass ladylike touch.

What I Wore | Saturday

Saturday wanders with my Blokefolk.  It’s a thing.  Latte-fuelled, obviously.  This was the Saturday before Mother’s Day, and the Blokefolk played the old bait-and-switcheroo on me.

They wanted to head to the mall to pick up some last minute Mother’s Day pressies, so they suggested we go to a walk to the markets.  We split up, and minutes later I got a text message saying they were heading off.  What was a girl to do but go shopping in the sunshine?

I teamed my black Katies Super Shaper skinnies with a white Bella Bodies Camyz Shaper to up the smoothing factor. I upped the pink factor with rose gold slip on shoes from Seed Heritage, pink Mimco sunglasses and a pink top from Kmart.

A Frank Green coffee cup, which I received as a gift, Oroton mini bag and Imagine Swarovski pearl necklace by Jet Empire Jewellery were the finishing touches.

What I Wore | Sunday

Ah, Mother’s Day! I had just the most lovely day with my Blokefolk.  Click here to read about my Festival of Mother’s Day!

The Blokefolk sat through Cinderella for me, bless their little cotton socks.  If you love Ben & Jerry’s ice cream as much as Boyo and I do, make sure you pick up their gift with purchase calendar in the Christmas holidays.  Hello free Mother’s Day scoop!

I teamed Levi’s Curve ID printed jeans (an American outlet centre bargain from our 2013 Big Four Oh My Gods trip), with an old silk & bamboo Country Road top with a Missoni for Target scarf that coordinated beautifully.  My Mother’s Day gift, the lovely Jazmeen Belted Mac from Boohoo, had to get an outing on Mother’s Day, don’t you think?

I accessorised with Tory Burch flats, Blush & Co Blush of Simplicity necklace, The Jewel Collective Andromeda stud earrings, and the mini rose gold hoops and Classic Q Hillier I picked up at the markets the day before.  A Mimco ponyholder added a little je ne sais quoi to my dirty-hair-don’t-care twist and pin ‘do.
