Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jeans | What I Wore

You may have noticed that I’m totes in love with the gorgeousness that is Bohemian Traders?  I absolutely adore their floaty boho chic pieces, and embellished antique designs.  I’m also head over heels for the hipness of the Bohemian Traders Denim collection.

I’m sharing how I wore my Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jeans for a day spent running errands and a sunny Saturday with my Blokefolk.

Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jeans | How To Wear

I have to admit, at first I struggled a little bit with the high waist and relaxed leg combo of the Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jeans.  I’ve embraced the mid rise waist of a skinny jean as the perfect antidote to a muffin top with a long top.  I’ve embraced the oversized men’s jean worn low on the hips held up with a belt, pegged legs and with a fitted top.  Combining the two was challenging.

My solution has been to pull up the jeans higher than I usually would and layer under a longer more loose fitting top.  This works because the tapering of the Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jeans are more forgiving than my usual boyfriend jean – an actual pair of men’s jeans belted and pegged.  It also works because the Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jeans don’t require a belt to hold them up, because they are actually designed to fit a woman’s body.  Who knew?

Alternatively, I wear the Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jeans just under my belly button (crucially over the hips to prevent muffin toppage) and instead of tucking a corner of my top into the waistband, I tuck into the front pocket instead.  Definitely more flattering.

Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jeans | Retro Cute

First up, I styled the Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jeans for comfort.  Yes, often my first criteria.  A day spent running errands and getting some hard core screen time work done just cries out for comfort.  Luckily, my comfortable linen polka dot Country Road tee has the added benefit of being cute as a button.  Not to mention quite transparent, which I didn’t realise at the time.  Thank goodness for my pretty cotton Bonds t shirt bra.

The comfort extended to hair styling – dirty hair and a vintage silk scarf is a match made in retro cute heaven.  I added an Olive* pair of Mox for even more comfort (and perfect for the rainy weather too), amped up the retro cute with my Erstwilder Anchor earrings* from Vintage Pip and added a Leaf & Feather long beaded necklace.  I grabbed my Mimco Tattoo Bubble bag in Seafoam as I was running out the door and Bob’s your auntie’s live in lover.

Finally, the Sydney weather seems to have remembered it is, in fact, autumn.  I got dressed with glee when I checked my weather app on this day.  Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jeans, a tank for keeping myself nice and an oversized mesh knit worn off the shoulder for a hint of sexy for a day out with my Blokefolk.

We hit the movies with Boyo and his best mate.  The LEGO movie, just quietly.  Do yourself a favour – go and see it.  No need to take kids with you.  It is that good!

My Metalicus swing tank has a flattering racer back cut and looked fab with the Bohemian Traders Boyfriend Jean – the combination of the fitted bust and the shaped hem worked back really well with the relaxed cut of the jeans.

The gorgeous Sass & Bide metallic gold and black knit was a thrifted bargain and will be worn over and over again.  It’s such a simple piece yet the luxe fabric and detailed mesh knit give it a glamorous edge.

Such a gorgeous piece makes enough of a statement, so I teamed with simple jade resin earrings* from Each to Own, my Mimco Jalabee watch and some Usual Suspects silver bangles – a Mimco Precious piece I received for my Big Four Oh My Gods, the Tiffany & Co piece I received for my 30th birthday, and the lovely Popbasic Wishbone bracelet from the Sunday collection.

A pair of black suede Albert slippers from Shubar completed my look.  The velvety suede worked back beautifully with the luxe metallic knit.

OK that’s it – you’ve convinced me. I have to have those Bohemian Traders boyfriend jeans! Love the way you’ve styled them, particularly with the mesh knit. And tucking your top into the pocket rather than the waistband? Genius!ReplyCancel

I should be saying that the Sass & Bide knit is rather ordinary and should go immediately to your new online boutique. I insist… just let me have first dibs.

    lol

Honestly you look gorgeous as per usual. I’m rather envious of your confidence in front of the camera and the fact you have your very own personal photographer.

Lots of luck for this weekend, I will be thinking of you and playing along at home. Can’t wait to see the photos.ReplyCancel
