Kimba Likes Borne Naked Bagvember Day 22

Day 22 and after yesterday’s Bondage Bag, I’m keeping it ladylike today with a pretty Burberry bag and a silk-ruffled cardigan.

I’m participating in 7 Days of Selfies again with Alyce of Blossom Heart.  This time, it has a Thankful theme – let’s be thankful for the little things!  This is Day 1 of my 7 Days of Selfies, and I’m thankful for the end of my working week and my three day weekend!  I’m also thankful for my specialist appointment tomorrow, whom I’m hoping will help me sort out an ongoing health issue.

Today’s bag is a very pretty berry-toned Burberry London Blue Label tote bag with beige leather trim.  The handles are my perfect length, and it has that all important easy access pocket for my phone and bus pass.   She coordinates beautifully with this lovely glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, don’t you think?

Boyo and I have a dinner date every Thursday night.  Usually, we hit the local sushi bar, but it has gone downhill lately, so we tried Rosebud, a lovely local cafe with absolutely shocking service.  I’m pleased to report that it is much better at night time – could still do with a little work though.  I have food allergies and there are many things I cannot eat on menus.  I do appreciate it when a waiter returns to tell me what they have to change in my dish, rather than just presenting it sans the offending items.  Sometimes, I’d actually prefer to order something else instead.  This, sadly, did not happen tonight, but my Scotch fillet with kipflers and rocket was absolutely fabulous  nonetheless.  You know when you ask for medium rare and it’s actually a bit more medium?  Not in this case – perfectly cooked.

It was Kids Eat Free night, and Boyo inhaled his calamari and fries, and even ate three different types of salad vegetables, including the dreaded lettuce.  He did have an ulterior motive though.  The drawback of having a child who can read is that they can read, and he read “churro with chocolate sauce and ice cream”.  Hmmm … it becomes clear now.

The outfit du jour is berry nice – my Burberry tote, Fat Face scarf, Leona Edmiston dress, and Spanx tights are all in berry tones – even my glasses coordinate beautifully.  I’ve teamed this with a very pretty Witchery cream cotton cardigan with a silk ruffled edging around the zipper, and my gold studded Leona Edmiston ballet flats.  Today’s hairbow is a ruby sparkly bow by Mimco.

So, what is this Bagvember stuff all about?

Have you heard about Borne Naked handbag liners?  I love to swap bags and I use mine all the time.

Amanda George from Borne Naked has a Handbag Blog, where she showcases everything handbags.  She’s a little bit obsessed (I know the feeling well!).

Amanda has issued a challenge for November.  Firstly, she’s nicknamed it Bagvember, and it’s all about changing handbags every day for the month of November.  Amanda thinks she probably has at least 100 bags.

I’m going to accept the challenge and change my handbag every day.  For reasons of practicality, I’m not committing to 30 handbags in 30 days, but I am committing to changing my handbag every day.

My darling 8 year old Boyo loved Frocktober and very proudly told everyone he met that his mama was doing Frocktober.  He brainstormed a pile of ideas for what I could do in November, and Bagvember was one of his ideas.  It’s fate really, isn’t it!  He also came up with Lipstickvember and Bravember and Knickervember.  Hmmmm …

Amanda will be posting pics of her daily Bagvember bag on FacebookInstagram and Pinterest.

If you feel like joining her (and me!), here’s the easy instructions of how to join in!
