It’s time to go shopping for new season swimwear. I know right. Everyone’s most hated shopping trip of the year.
It’s just so demoralising squishing yourself into tubes of lycra, sweating under hot lights, and crossing your fingers desperately that the flimsy curtains don’t spring open.
If you’re an inbetweenie or plus size, it just feels a little bit more difficult. There are plus size swimwear options, but most of them are nanna florals (and not in an on trend vintage chic kind of way) and they’re designed to cover not enhance.
City Chic Swim 16
Meet City Chic Swim! The SS16 collection has key pieces in anything-but-basic black (just look at that super fun fuchsia lining!). Featuring an underwire one piece, one piece, underwire bikini top, bikini top, tank top, swim skirt bottoms and bikini bottoms in black. As well as printed pieces in the same flattering cuts, and a few extras.
Plus the signature fun and flirty City Chic Swim prints – adorable Birdy, glam vintage floral, chic black and white stripes, and a graphic print.
City Chic is all about celebrating a woman’s body, curves and all. Bikinis aren’t just for standard size girls. Rock your bikini body, right up to size 24, with the famous City Chic Curvykini!
Important features in swimwear are all included in various designs – powermesh lining, adjustable straps, flattering ruching, full coverage bikini briefs.
City Chic Swim | wearing the Kimbakini
The City Chic Swim 16 range is all about mix and match. I decided to make my own version of the City Chic Curvykini – a Kimbakini!
Just look at that gorgeous ruffle detail! So damned retro cute.
I talk the body positive talk, so I’m walking the body positive walk. I’m 43 years old, and my curves have curves. Here I am in my body positive City Chic Swim Kimbakini.
The swim skirt has flattering ruching and draped ruffles, and it sits where you place it. These babies do not move!
The underwire bikini top has inbuilt boob cushions, which City Chic Swim call “removable push up padding”. Even when you’re packing a set of EnormoBoobs, padding is fabulous in a swim suit. A little extra help to get the girls sitting well is most welcome!
I’m super happy with my choice of new season swimwear from City Chic Swim, and I will be hanging out at the beach and pool with my Blokefolk this summer in style and confidence.
