Curly hair product reviews featuring gifted product from RY.com.au and Natura Siberica
Putting on my Beauty Blogger hat to bring you some curly hair product reviews from a curly girl perspective.
Let’s check out my latest curly hair product reviews.
Curly hair product reviews | Natura Siberica
I was introduced to Natura Siberica at a Bloggers United Australia event. In my amazing goodie bag haul, I found my holy grail body moisturiser – Oblepikha Body Butter. Rather fond of the Oblepikha and Honey Body Scrub too.
The gorgeous girls at Natura Siberica sent me some haircare products for trial and review too.
Natura Siberica Oblepikha Hair Mask for Severely Damaged Hair
The trick to looking after curly hair is fighting frizz with lots of moisture. However too much moisture can make curls limp. I walk this fine line by washing my hair once a week and using a really good treatment conditioner – mine also tops up my colour.
Every second wash, I apply a hair mask for an extra boost. The Oblepikha Hair Mask for Severely Damaged Hair is packed full of vitamins, amino acids, sea buckthorn oil, argan oil, pinenut oil and macadamia oil to help produce keratin and moisturise the hair from the inside out. This combination adds a protective layer to the hair structure and renders a smooth shiny appearance.
Best of all, it smells absolutely divine, and leaves my hair feeling smooth and bouncy without feeling weighed down.
Natura Siberica Oblepikha Styling Mousse
The Oblepikha Styling Mousse has an environmentally friendly pump that is easy to use, and works well to protect hair during heat styling. It contains no SLS, SLES, parabens, mineral oil and the like, but is full of natural goodies like Siberian sea buckthorn oil, amaranth, white Siberian flaxseed oil and silk proteins.
I have found it best to use when I’m styling my hair with my Vidal Sassoon Big Hair Styler. It helps to create voluminous smooth waves and curls.
Curly hair product reviews | RY Australia

Awapuhi is the Hawaiian name for a wild ginger plant, which originated in India and was transported via Polynesian settlers more than a thousand years ago. The juice present in mature flowers was used by indigenous Hawaiian women as a hair shampoo known for it’s softening and shine inducing properties.
Paul Mitchell has harnessed this for a range of haircare products that are divinely scented and produce touchably soft hair.
Let’s talk about the Styling Treatment Oil. I’m a big fan of hair oils for my curly hair. I use them on freshly washed damp hair – in combination with a hair styling creme, and for adding moisture and blitzing frizz for second day (ok, third, fourth, fifth …) hair.
I’ve got a lot of hair oil experience and the Awapuhi Wild Ginger Styling Treatment Oil rates highly. The combination of the treatment and styling is a winner, and leaves me with smooth, frizz free curls. Plus … and this is pretty important for something so close to your nose … it smells just gorgeous!
The Finishing Spray is safe for coloured hair, has UV protection and is paraben free. It holds the hair like hairspray but without the rock hard finish. Touchable, flexible hair that looks shiny? Yes please. Oh, and did I mention how divine it smells?
I’ve been using mine to smooth not-so-freshly washed hair and reduce flyaways. The oil extract makes for a gorgeous shiny but not crunchy finish. On my freshly washed hair, once diffused or hot brushed, it holds my hair beautifully – especially on super humid days.
Paul Mitchell Curls Twirl Around Curl Definer
A curly girl needs a good styling creme in her arsenal. I was intrigued to trial the Paul Mitchell Curls Twirl Around Curl Definer.
It’s paraben free, suitable for vegans and is colour safe. It contains a dual formula of smoothing gel and hydrating cream to define, separate and tame without crunchiness (ewww, so 80s) or frizz.
The trick with the Twirl Around Curl Definer is to start with less, as too much of this product isn’t a good thing. But get the balance right, and you can work some perfect curls.
Like most hair products, it is best to apply to towel dried hair (patted dry, not rubbed dry, for the love of frizz reducing). To create the perfect curl, emulsify the product into your hands and work through your hair; then twirl small sections around your fingers to form curls. Leave to hair dry or diffuse if you’re in a hurry.
Alternatively, this product works well when scrunched through the hair for a textured wavy look.
Do you have curly hair? Any favourite products you’d like to share? Is a delicious scent important to you too?
