It’s a great opportunity to share your style and gain inspiration from the everyday style of a vast variety of women – and the odd man. I love watching confidence blossom in participants, admiring the change it has made to the way they wear colour, and express themselves through their personal everyday style.
What I love the most is how you can almost chart the personal confidence exhibited by some of the more camera shy participants. Their poses get less tentative, and their smiles beam up at you.
I’m sharing my four favourite everyday style outfits from March, all featuring thrifted pieces from Red Cross Rozelle. I love being able to incorporate thrifted pieces into my everyday style. Reduce, reuse, recycle. Plus leaves some more money left over to stock up on statement and classic pieces. Yes, you’re right. I am a thinking woman.
Everyday Style | Neon Floral Frock
I’m wearing a dress of such happiness that people stopped me in the street to tell me I was making them smile. How lovely is that!
For the Fox in Flats Style Dare prompt of Orange Lipstick, I teamed my BECCA Australia Ultimate Colour Gloss in Malibu Punch with a thrifted no label stretch cotton dress from Red Cross Rozelle, teamed with Mimco rose gold stud hairpin, plaited yellow belt purchased on sale from Sussan, Ruby Olive bangle, Mimco handbag and watch. The watch was a birthday gift to myself, using my Mimcollective birthday voucher, and the Seafoam Tattoo Bubble handbag, complete with my favourite tassel, was a Christmas gift from the Blokefolk a few years ago. I bought my mustard yellow cork wedge sandals on sale from Zomp Shoez on a last minute Christmas shopping trip with one of the Gorgeous Girls.
Everyday Style | 70s printed skirt
This outfit was put together for Fox in Flats Style Dare with the prompt of Vintage. Loved this 70s cotton jungle print skirt so much that I bought it, even though it was massively too big for me. By pleating the centre of the back waistband and sewing it down, I created a waisted skirt with even more volume. Another Red Cross Rozelle bargain.
I’ve teamed it with a silk tank from Seed Femme, antique turquoise marcasite earrings given to me for my Big Four Oh My Gods and my paternal grandfather’s sterling silver coin case on a Mimco Precious sterling silver chain.
A waist defining Trenery black leather belt, Mimco Jalabee watch, and my Usual Suspects silver bangles and bracelets work back with my Sterling & Hyde cobalt mini bag. The bag was purchased using a gift voucher from the Gorgeous Girls for my Big Four Oh My Gods.
Red Cross Rozelle came to the rescue again when I broke my Gorman wooden clogs (sad, sad face) by providing a fabulous pair of Nordic Fusion clog sandals in Platinum leather.
Everyday Style | Grunge is Good
Another really fun prompt from the Fox in Flats Style Dare. I couldn’t face three quarter panted-suits and it was way too hot for ripped jeans and flannel shirts. I teamed my infamous Woogsworld Seed condom dress with a 90s vintage Ralph Lauren tartan blazer. Yes, another Red Cross Rozelle thrifted bargain. Mustard suede Sambag ballet flats, tangerine leather Witchery bag, sterling silver hoops gifted from Bevilles and a chunky leather belt worked back with my 90s Jan Logan sterling silver pendant, a gift from the Welshman, way back in the Paleolithic era.
I roughly blowdried my hair into a straight-ish bob – remember the 90s were indeed a long time ago. No gHDs! Brown lipstick, a Mirenesse gift with purchase I thought I’d never wear, completed the 90s Grunge is Good look.
Everyday Style | Sass and Bide evening silks
My gorgeous friend celebrated her 40th birthday with a fabulous dinner at Toko Surry Hills. That’s her to my right, just in case you were wondering who that stunning 28 year old blonde photobombshell was.
Once again, I’m wearing Red Cross Rozelle. Fabulous Sass and Bide to be precise. I’m wearing a stunning printed silk jumpsuit with a silk blazer. Some metallic sparkle was added with a Seed Femme gold glitter belt, Mimco statement earrings and Mimco sequinned envelope clutch.
I don’t wear heels often enough – I love the leg lengthening effect but loathe the sore tootsies. These little suede platform almond toe babies by Lipstik are the holy grail of high heels. They’re actually comfortable and were incredibly well priced. They were also perfect for the daily Fox in Flats Style Dare prompt of leather.
