Frocktober Day 23 and I dressed for winter in a woollen Leona Edmiston frock. I was so cold yesterday and couldn’t bear the thought of another freezing day in what is supposed to be spring (yes, I know it rains in springtime, but hail is not usual). I want daffodils and gambolling lambs and drifting cherry blossom and wafting jasmine. Not bloody hail!
I absolutely love this dress. I adore it. It is one of my favourite winter pieces and I look forward to cold weather just so I can wear it again. I was lucky enough to find this one in an op shop where I volunteered, and it cost me the princely sum of $8. I know!
I’ve added midnight opaque tights from Sussan – they’re not quite navy and not quite purple – and little patent flats from Forever New, as well as my navy patent Marni belt. Coordinated rather than matching is the plan.
I’ve added a pop of pink for Pink Ribbon Week with my new Bobbi Brown Pink Peony powder (thanks Shop Me Chic!) and my favourite BECCA Ultimate Colour Gloss in Flamingo Crush. The girls at Shop Me Chic are sharing pictures of their Pink Ribbon Week pops of pink over at Instagram and Twitter. Check it out and join in the fun! The hashtag is #achicpinkribbonweek.
My gorgeous Red Phoenix Emporium Leo necklace with gorgeous fuchsia beads is another pop of pink for Pink Ribbon Week. It just makes me feel happy!
Today’s Operation Arctic Office manoeuvre is a cropped Cue grey blazer. When even that wasn’t enough today, I added my lovely 100% silk Oroton scarf that set me back a huge $6 from Vinnies. Oh, the joy of op shopping!
Day 23 of Frocktober found me nice and warm in my freezing office, dressed as I was in a winter frock, and boiling like a lobster on the sunshine-filled walk home from school. Some days, a girl just can’t win but I’m still rocking on with my frock on and raising money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
You can check out my Everyday Hero Kimba Likes fundraising page, which is tracking my efforts to reach my fundraising goal of $500. Thank you so much to the gorgeous and generous souls who have made a contribution. I’m more than halfway there. I’m unbelievably grateful. Love your work!
