Frocktober Day 26 and it’s Friday, Friday, Friday! Today’s plan was coffee with the Gorgeous Girls, groceries, baking apple pies for Oktoberfest on Saturday and getting in supplies for hosting lunch with friends on Sunday. I’m going old school with a trifle for Sunday lunch. I didn’t quite manage the baking, so I guess I’m up early tomorrow morning!
I’m wearing another fabulous op shopped frock today. This one is a black jersey number by Andiamo and set me back a fiver. Yup. Five bucks. That’s considerably less than Boyo gets for his weekly pocket money. I could have had a new dress or an Adriano Zumbo hot chocolate. Hmmm …
It is sleeveless with a cross over top, ruched waist with sash and mid calf length. It’s kinda breaking some of my fashion rules with the dropped waist and the peculiar length, but it also kinda works. As it is all one colour, adding a pop of colour with the Leona Edmiston Pins blue leggings, which crucially stop at the thinnest part of my leg draws the eye away from the unflattering mid calf hem.
The Helix by Lisa Stack cape, with the busy pattern and width, accentuates the column shape of the dress, making me appear long and lean. This is a feat beyond imagining. Finally, my Red Phoenix Emporium long necklace, which is fast becoming my new signature piece, works by drawing the eye down and adds to the lengthening effect.
The final piece to the puzzle is my Leona Edmiston black suede ballet flats with patent toecaps.
Day 26 of Frocktober and I’m breaking my own fashion rules! I’m rocking a gorgeous op shopped frock again, and raising money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
You can check out my Everyday Hero Kimba Likes fundraising page, which is tracking my efforts to reach my fundraising goal of $500. Thank you so much to the gorgeous and generous souls who have made a contribution. Only $100 to go. I’m unbelievably grateful. Love your work!
