Day 27 of Frocktober brought sunshine and a beautiful spring day for an annual Oktoberfest party. The perfect day to wear this fun Guanabana maxi dress.
I bought this really fun tiered maxi dress with vintage rick rack trim by Guanabana from a funky little shop in Newcastle, when we were visiting friends earlier this year. I’ve teamed it with adorable Wittner cream sandals, a little peach crochet cardigan and my Sunnylife sunhat for lazing in the garden, watching a spot of backyard cricket and resisting the urge to have a little post-prandial snooze. Apparently it is obligatory to eat until you are stuffed at the annual Oktoberfest extravaganza. It would be rude not to. Rest assured that I lived up to my obligations.
On the Oktoberfest menu was German sausages, German noodles in cheesy sauce, sauerkraut, German salads, pulled pork belly with to-die-for crackling, German dumplings with mushroom sauce … the list goes on. If it was German, it was there. For dessert, there was strudel with ice cream, mini apple pies, Blackforest gateau, almond and apple pie and chocolate covered pretzels. So much food and it was all absolutely divinely delicious! I may not need to eat for some time. Oh, until the barbecue we’re having tomorrow anyway.
Today’s face was Catalina Geo BB cream, Illamasqua Skinbase, Napoleon Perdis The One concealer (still getting used to this one), with Songbird mineral blush by BECCA. My eyes were made up with BECCA Halycon Days palette, NARS Larger than Life gold pencil, Napoleon Perdis China Doll gel liner in Bronze and lots of Estee Lauder Double Wear Lengthening Mascara. BECCA Ultimate Colour Gloss in Malibu Punch and a quick swoop of BECCA Pressed Shimmer Powder in Angel to highlight my cheekbones and brow finished my look.
Day 27 of Frocktober and it was baking, backyard cricket and far too much absolutely fabulous food for Oktoberfest! I’m enjoying wearing this really fun maxi frock, and raising money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
You can check out my Everyday Hero Kimba Likes fundraising page, which is tracking my efforts to reach my fundraising goal of $500. Thank you so much to the gorgeous and generous souls who have made a contribution. Only $100 to go. I’m unbelievably grateful. Love your work!
