Last mothers day was also my partners bday. We went out to lunch with my family to celebrate mothers day but I secretly organised a cake to come out at the end of the meal. My partner had no idea, to the extent that when the lights went out and the cake came out everyone in the restaurant was singing happy birthday..including him. He didn’t catch on until the cake got placed in front of him and was very embarrassed he had been singing happy birthday so jubilantly to himself.ReplyCancel

Best, maybe not the funniest….. But my eldest nephew ( now 25) brought me a Mother’s Day present from the school stall when he was in preps. It was a small piece of wood wrapped in some pretty paper and a bow ( it cost him a whole 20 cents) …….and I still have it, still wrapped with the bow on it…. Just can not bring my self to either unwrap it or throw it out xoxo he was the best – brought npmy brother & I together after yrs …. Love him always xoReplyCancel

Every year for Mothers Day I would buy my Mum the same type of gift from the school’s Mother’s Day stall – a nicely decorated bar of soap! By the end of primary school my Mum had a big shoe box full of soap!ReplyCancel

Gorgeous bracelet. I’m linking up late as my latest LBD style challenge hits the blog early. You receive a little mention and if you have the time (when you get back from your holiday) I would love to know what you think of my style set.

Hoping you are enjoying your time away. I’m so very envious.

I don’t have any funny mother’s day stories to tell.ReplyCancel

Priorities; my six year old was mucking about while getting ready, for the 500th time I said “Get dressed Archie, I wont ask again” to this his response was “ok mum, I just need to fart on Levi first” naturally farting on your little brother should come before listening to your mother!! Happy Mothers Day!ReplyCancel

What a lovely bracelet !!! Last year I waited and waited in bed for someone to come in with a cup of tea, shout Happy Mothers Day. The longer I waited the grumpier I became. Eventually I got up, went to the kitchen to find them all waiting for me to get up !!!ReplyCancel

I really want to win this one. It’s a beauty.

I asked my then husband for a lovely dressing gown for mother’s day as I was up and down breast feeding in winter and I was often cold.
He chose a lovely kind of fluffy bamboo dressing gown that was so soft, however he chose a kind of browny grey colour. I slipped into my gift and we decided that it was not only the least sexy dressing gown ever but I actually looked like Chewbacca.ReplyCancel

  • Vicki | The Fashionable Mum - 1 April 2015 - 10.49 am

Such a gorgeous prize! I’m not sure I have a funny story to tell but it cracks me up every year when the kids buy me presents from the school fundraising stall and they’re always the things they want rather than things for me…lol “I love you” teddybear, anyone?ReplyCancel

  • Rachel from Redcliffe Style - 1 April 2015 - 7.44 am

What a gorgeous prize! It’s not really funny but an awareness. For years I would celebrate my Mother on Mothers day but after a few years of being a mum, I realised it was about me too. I don’t know how I missed this?ReplyCancel
