Hi there my name is Bron.

I write the blog Flat Bum Mum about staying stylish during the madness of motherhood.

I’m so pleased to be popping in to the Kimba Likes community to share some style tips with you.

Recently Kimba discussed options for dressing a bloated tummy. This is a topic close to my heart (or should I say gut) as I am the not so proud owner of a mum gut.

Since embarking on Frocktober this year I have been busy finding ways to disguise my belly and enhance my waist whilst wearing a dress. Kimba is a Frocktober veteran and if you are in a position to donate to this amazing cause please find her fundraising page here.

Today I am going to show you three simple tricks to fake a waist when wearing a frock.

Kmart dress, Kmart Belt, Solito Cape

A belt gives your eye the illusion of a waist while the cape provides coverage for the bulgy bits.  This is my favourite way to fake a waist.  So simple.

Kaja dress, Katies scarf, Poltrona BagKeds sneakers

Disguise that tummy by draping a long scarf around your neck.  Leave it loose and long to cover your middle and distract from any waistline wobbles.

How to fake a waist in a dress | accessorise to lift the eyes

Dotti dress, Sportsgirl T-Shirt, David Jones hat (from the men’s section), thrifted necklace

Use the power of accessories to draw eyes upward and away from your tummy. I added a t-shirt over this maxi to hide my bra straps and to disguise my large chest.  The necklace and hat help to keep the attention on my face rather than my middle.

I hope you found a tip or two to help you look and feel frock-tastic in a dress.

I would love you to pop over and say hi to me on my blog, Facebook or Instagram.

Until we meet again.

Stay stylish.  Bron  xo
