How to mix and match seasonal style featuring gifted fashion from
Ruby & Lilli, Lillianna Plus, Rockmans, Table Eight, Shopbop, Planet Shoes
What’s with the weather? It’s winter in a couple of weeks, and yet it is still warm and sunshine-filled where I live, and lots of other parts of Australia.
I know I should just enjoy the warmth, but I’ve got gorgeous autumn style I want to wear! The trick is to incorporate it into my existing summer wardrobe. I’m sharing my tips on how to mix and match seasonal style.
how to mix and match seasonal style | coloured tights
A pair of coloured tights is a fabulous way to add an instant pop to your outfit – plus it transforms a warm weather outfit to a cool weather outfit stat.
I’m wearing my gifted Ruby & Lilli Viva La Brunch T shirt with gifted Table Eight A line skirt (currently half price so run don’t walk). This is an outfit perfectly suited to warm weather and a pair of sandals. By adding my Gorman tights and Next cutout brogues, I’ve added an on trend autumn colour and brought the outfit to the winter side!

how to mix and match seasonal style | poncho
In the cooler months, I’ll layer this fun Rockmans knit poncho (sold out online but you might still find one in store) over long sleeve knits and polo necks, and under coats, but right now, it adds an autumn edge to my jeans, tank and kicks outfit whilst not overheating. Loving these gifted Rockmans biker jeggings hard.
how to mix and match seasonal style | faux fur
Nothing says summer more than a maxi dress and nothing says winter more than faux fur. I’ve teamed the two to create a fab seasonal crossover outfit.
A thrifted belt adds some waist definition, and my tan Michael Kors mini bag and gifted Planet Shoes Hawthorne ankle boots add some autumnal tones and style.
As a self confessed layer player and print clash princess, this outfit made me so happy I didn’t even mind that it was too warm for May!
Adding a pair of ankle boots takes my summer cropped Boom Shankar Habibi pants into the autumn style zone. A layered sleeveless top (knit with chiffon shirt hem) forms the base for more layers. A Surafina scarf from Styling You AW16 Shop works back beautifully with my Table Eight denim sleeveless trench.
The sleeveless coat style is so hot right now. It is perfect for trans seasonal dressing as it adds the look of autumn style without adding the feel of winter layers.
How to mix and match seasonal style | lightweight fabric
A simple trick to get the look of autumn style? Just switch up the fabrics. It’s all about the weight.
My jeans are an oversized boyfriend style (from Rockmans, now sold out) in a super lightweight denim – plus they have built in vents! My Metalicus rose gold top is made from a jersey fabric – a bit heavier than a standard T shirt, making my lightweight gifted Lillianna Plus kimono a great trans seasonal option.
As the weather cools down, it will look great over a long sleeved knit.
How to mix and match seasonal style | add a sleeveless knit
In a light stretchy knit, it’s a flattering style with it’s long line style. The knit adds warmth and the sleeveless style keeps it cool – literally and figuratively. When the weather cools down, I’m going to layer this style over and under a long sleeve top and long line waterfall cardigan.
I’ve layered it over a very pretty summery blouse gifted from Lillianna Plus. The dramatic bell sleeves add a great element to a simple jeans and knit outfit.
How is the weather where you are? Are you champing at the bit to get your autumn winter style on?
