The bag du jour for Bagvember Day 3 is in one of my favourite colours, a fabulous bright blue leather with silver studs and hardware, and is by Llloyd Baker London. I bought it from TK Maxx in Cheltenham a couple of years ago, reduced by 75%. Oooh, I do love a bargain!
Bagvember Day 3 and it’s a family pottering around day. I started my day with a surprise breakfast in bed – Boyo designed a special Meteor Showers egg dish for me, bless his little cotton socks. We popped out for a family milkshake treat, then Boyo set off to see the Sydney Symphony Orchestra perform Pixar in Concert with his bestie.
The Welshman and I seized the opportunity to go and get some Xmas shopping done. Santa emails us every year when he sees something on special and asks us to pick it up for him, and then BPAYs us the money. He’s good like that.
Being the responsible parents we are, we managed to sneak in a quick pub stop at our local, the Three Weeds, before collecting Boyo from the bus stop. My bag came along for the trip, naturally.
My back is still very sore, so I’m working my way through the lightest bags in my collection, and carrying the bare essentials.
Today’s essentials are my Mimco wallet, Rayban sunnies and Burberry purse with all the stuff a girl needs. The Welshman gave me the Burberry purse when we were dating, and we celebrated our tenth anniversary this year. Still going strong, just like the purse. x
So what is this Bagvember stuff all about?
Have you heard about Borne Naked handbag liners? I love to swap bags and I use mine all the time. Sometimes I use it as storage for the essential handbag items, and just pick and choose from the liner to pop into my clutch or small day bag, when I don’t want to take everything with me. That way, I know where my work keys are when Monday rolls around again. On Monday, I simply refill my liner and pop it back into my work tote. Perfect!

Amanda George from Borne Naked has a Handbag Blog, where she showcases everything handbags. She’s a little bit obsessed (I know the feeling well!).
Amanda has issued a challenge for November. Firstly, she’s nicknamed it Bagvember, and it’s all about changing handbags every day for the month of November. Amanda thinks she probably has at least 100 bags.
I’m going to accept the challenge and change my handbag every day. For reasons of practicality, I’m not committing to 30 handbags in 30 days, but I am committing to changing my handbag every day.
My darling 8 year old Boyo loved Frocktober and very proudly told everyone he met that his mama was doing Frocktober. He brainstormed a pile of ideas for what I could do in November, and Bagvember was one of his ideas. It’s fate really, isn’t it! He also came up with Lipstickvember and Bravember and Knickervember. Hmmmm …
If you feel like joining her (and me!), here’s the easy instructions of how to join in!
