Let me introduce you to Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No 7 Plush Shadow, purchased from Sephora on my recent US trip. I restricted myself to just one, and The Vamp was the winner, containing these gorgeous jewel-toned shades.
As you would expect, the Marc Jacobs Beauty range has chic black and white packaging which looks as opulent as it feels. The palette comes complete with a black fabric case.
The colour payoff of the shadows is impressive and true to colour. The shadows feel luxurious and creamy upon application and blend like a dream. Priced at $59 USD, they are on the expensive side but the sheer delight of using them makes you feel so special you can justify it to yourself.
Get your hands on the Marc Jacobs Beauty range by using a shipping forwarder, which will enable you to use your Sephora Beauty Insider membership, or try Tarazz, where the Style Eye-Con palette is available for $72.98 AUD plus postage.
I’ve blended the metallic golden brown as a base on my lid with the metallic jade green blended into the centre of my lid. I’ve lined my upper lashline with midnight blue, and lined the outer corner with the iridescent black shimmer. I smudged a little metallic golden brown on my inner lashline. Finally, I highlighted under the brow and in the inner corners with the matte off-white colour.
To complete my day face, I’ve applied Catalina Geo Triple Action Tinted Moisturiser. Click here for my review. It hasn’t replaced my beloved Catalina Geo Intensive BB Cream in my affections, but it has definitely found a permanent place in my makeup routine. I tend to wear the BB Cream as a primer when I wear creme or liquid foundation, and the Tinted Moisturiser on days when I just add concealer and a little mineral powder.
I’ve defined my brows with Youngblood Brow Artiste in Auburn, concealed with Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Light, and added a little blush with ELES Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Coral Sun. A little Too Faced 16hr Bronzer and BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone, plus a sweep of Mary Kay Translucent Powder to set my face for the day. Caudalie Beauty Elixir was spritzed onto my skin before I applied Benefit They’re Real mascara. I’m wearing Mary Kay True Definitions lipstick in Pink Cherie, patted on with my fingertip to keep it subtle.
I bought this palette at the same time as the Urban Decay Naked palette, with the intention of using the Marc Jacobs Vamp palette as pops of colour over the Urban Decay Naked base. I decided to set myself a challenge and create an eye look using the entire palette.
Have you tried the new Marc Jacobs Beauty range? Are you also hopeful Sephora will ship to Australia one day soon?
