Ah, Mothers Day. We celebrate it as a family day – Boyo even got a present this year. Just an excuse to do something nice together as a family – and I seize upon those!
It’s worth remembering that Mothers Day isn’t easy for everyone, too.
The day has to start with breakfast in bed – I think it is obligatory. I got spoilt with Belle Fleur handmade chocolates, Typo tea towel and cute cards, Country Road wool dress I’ve been crushing on, Lisa T scented candle, gluten free chocolate cookies, and the piece de resistance, pink fluffy dice! Apparently, it was just the thing my car was missing. Who knew?
What I wore on Mothers Day
Next up, Boyo was the reserve reserve for his rugby team. They were a bit low on reserves so he got a run. He put in some beautiful tackles – all those cold evening training sessions are paying off.
I accessorised with my Usual Suspects arm party, Kitten L’Amour sunglasses and rose gold RumbaTime Soho watch gifted from Shopbop.
Off the shoulder style was one of my summer favourites. I’ll be rocking this style throughout the winter months too, with this gorgeous 100% merino dress.
It skims, not clings, is bang on trend in terms of colour, and the style lends itself to versatility. The off the shoulder style can be ruched, worn cuffed, off one shoulder or even as a cowl neck. Think it might be my new favourite wardrobe piece! Sorry, ladybugs. It’s sold out online, but you might still find it at the outlet store.
Hanging out on Mothers Day
I’m not a beach fan. At all. But I love Balmoral Beach. There’s just something about the gorgeous 50s-esque retro cute vibe that gets me. Plus the gorgeous restaurants, the stunning scenery, the foreshore reserves with beautifully gnarled fig trees, and the winding promenade which means I can enjoy the beach without having to endure sand. Winning!
By the way, I’m also partial to tropical island holiday beaches with comfy sun lounges placed under shady trees with cocktail service. You know, if I have to.
The Blokefolk and I went for a little weekend wander at Balmoral, with a fish and chip supper thrown into the mix. Boyo even posed for photos with me. Thank you Mothers Day!
Home for frozen margaritas? Yes please!
How did you spend Mothers Day?
