I’m feeling the happiness of having a shiny bright smile!

You know that I’m totally not a woo woo type of person? But sometimes fate steps in and I have no choice but to go with it!

I love to smile and laughing is totally my jam, but I’m embarrassed by my teeth.  Years of penicillin as a kid ruined my emerging adult teeth, and nine months of vomiting whilst I was pregnant haven’t left me with a super bright smile.

I’ve had them whitened before, but it wasn’t terribly successful.  I was looking for options about how to get the bright white smile that I felt would match my super shiny positive attitude!

When I was contacted about trialling and reviewing the Philips Zoom QuickPro whitening treatment at Pitt Street Dental Centre, I was in faster than than you could say Errol Flynn.  I know why they call it Philips Zoom! #seewhatIdidthere

Meet Pitt Street Dental Centre

The day I visited Pitt Street Dental Centre, I was in my usual drama llama rush.  I didn’t have time to drive back home and then bus it back to the city for my appointment, so I decided to throw caution to the winds and drive into the city.  I forgot about the redirection of the Sydney CBD streets, and thanked all the gods old and new for Bluetooth, GPS and my trusty iPhone.

I sprinted from the car park to the dental clinic, in a bit of a panic.  When I entered Pitt Street Dental Centre, it was literally like entering an oasis of  calm.

Cool, calm and chic, I was put in mind of a glam day spa, rather than a dental clinic.  Did you have a school dental nurse? There was a reason we called it the Murder House!  Rest assured, Pitt Street Dental Centre could not be further from this scary memory.

  • centrally located in Sydney CBD
  • team of dental practitioners led by Dr Michael Cai
  • all work fully guaranteed
  • materials used are made in Australia, not imported
  • emergency dental (yes, same day appointments!)
  • Philips Zoom teeth whitening
  • Invisalign teeth straightening
  • cosmetic dentistry, including veneers, crowns and bridges
  • chic day spa feel to relax you!

Philips Zoom QuickPro whitening treatment

After I completed my paperwork, I was led into a treatment room to start my Philips Zoom QuickPro journey.  Moulds were made of my teeth, and then the whitening gel was applied to my teeth.

After 10 minutes, the treatment is complete, and clients are ready to leave the clinic.  After half an hour, they are required to brush their teeth to remove the gel.

I remained at the clinic whilst this process took place.  I was provided with the latest fash mags (love that!) but I fell asleep in the comfy chair and availed myself of a little Nanna Napette.  I know! Imagine being so calm that you fall asleep at the dental clinic.  That’s how relaxed and comfortable I felt.

I was advised that it was important to follow a 48 hour White Food Diet following the treatment as the teeth would be a little porous for this time.  It was hard not having coffee in the morning, but I made up for it by having a glass of Champagne in the evening.  Good trade off, don’t you think? Now that’s my kind of diet!

I’ve followed up the clinic treatment with a couple of 20 minute home treatments.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy – just squeeze a little gel into the personalised trays and pop them into your mouth.  I brushed my teeth before and after, and cleaned the trays with a quick brush under running water.

The Before and Afters

Oh Em Gee, check it out!  I’m super duper impressed, and it was just so easy!

The clinic staff asked me whether I had tooth sensitivity post-treatment, so they could advise me how to deal with it. Apart from two or three teensy little twinges, I’ve had no problems at all.

You know, I’m so impressed with the results that if I did have sensitive teeth for a while afterwards, I would consider it to be a fab tradeoff!

I’m loving myself sick with my bright shiny smile.  Have you noticed me smiling away happily on Instagram? I’m delighted that my confident smile now matches the rest of my confident persona!

I may not have the perfect body nor the perfect teeth, but I do have the perfect attitude.  Life is all about making the best of what you’ve got – and taking advantage of fabulous modern treatments like Philips Zoom is just using your smarts!
