Kid Magazine

Please share a little about yourself

I’m a tea drinking, fabric hoarding, pink obsessed mum, wife, blogger and woman. By day I wrangle my toddler, our two dogs and a cat and by night I create Kid Magazine, a digital magazine and blog for mums who like style, pretty things and looking after themselves and their families. I somehow fit sleep in amongst the midst of my fun and chaotic life.

What makes you get out of bed every day?

My motivation comes from enjoying life and loving what I do. But if you are asking what really makes me get out of bed it is my nearly-two-year-old who screams “MUMMY” until I make my way into her room. I look forward to sleep-ins in about 18 years…

What’s your life motto?

“Whatever will be will be.” I was always raised to think positively about the future and opportunity and I believe in the powers of manifestation and positive thinking. I also believe that we should live life without regret so I take each experience in life as a lesson.

Complete this sentence “I’m obsessed by …”

Instagram. I am having so much fun over there at the moment!

What did you want to be when you grew up? Is it anything like what you’re doing now?

I wanted to study law and be a politician. I ended up studying HR, Psychology and Japanese and working as an HR Manager for 7 years before leaving it all behind to be a blogger and digital publisher. I never ever thought this was something I would do but I love it and wouldn’t change a thing.

Care to share a photo of a recent outfit you felt absolutely fabulous in?

I don’t walk out of the house in the morning unless I feel good in what I am wearing. Otherwise I am getting the day off to a bad start. I do love this Boom Shankar dress from Birdsnest though. It is so easy to wear and summery. The shoes are Corelli from Williams and I have them in beige and black because they are so comfortable.

You know I adore a good life hack – please share a tip, trick or life hack!

Never clean out your wardrobe on a bad day. I have lost many a beloved dress because I was feeling off or over it. Get yourself in a good frame of mind before tackling such a big task. Also, clean your wardrobe often. At least twice a year at change of season.

Tell me about a moment in your life that you’re super duper proud of

The moment I became a mum and everything I have done since. I still marvel at the fact that I brought a tiny person into this world and how clever and funny and cute she is. But what I have achieved since then is so mind blowing to me. It’s amazing what one can do with a little determination and a lot of hard work.

Describe your style in a sentence

Flowy, casual chic with a touch of glam.

What’s your favourite way to look after yourself? Share your Kimba Likes Daily Treats go tos!

There are a few ways I love to indulge in some self-care. The first is painting my nails. I’ve just discovered Formula X from Sephora. There is a great range of colours and they are easy to apply and long lasting.

Secondly, I love a nice glass of wine while sitting in the sun on a Sunday afternoon. My husband and I recently discovered the Aldi range of wines. The South Point Estate Rose is my favourite and only $4.99 a bottle!

Finally, and this may sound crazy but I love having a clean house. I don’t love cleaning but I love the result and how a clutter free and clean home makes me feel. I use White Magic cloths and ecostore cleaning products. Amazing!
