Shades of Grey

This week, I’m wearing colour.  No big surprise there.  I love colour and wear it all the time.  However, this week I’m joining my bloggy Gorgeous Girl Vanessa from Style & Shenanigans for the #SNSCOLOUR Challenge 2015.

A week of wearing a different colour tone every day.  I tend to wear two colours together – maybe with an accent colour too. For this week of #SNSCOLOUR, I’m challenging myself to wear one colour in different shades.

First cab off the rank is Shades of Grey.  I’ve read the book, have tickets for the movie, and now I am wearing the wardrobe.

I’ve teamed a Country Road charcoal marle maxi skirt with a DECJUBA eagle print racerbank tank in a washed out dark grey.

I’ve accessorised with more shades of grey.  I’ve tied a vintage pleated chiffon scarf as a hairbow, added polished silver New Zealand sixpence earrings, an Uberkate Fine heart necklace and a sterling silver, white crystal and grey-green Mimco bangle.  I carried a grey leather Mimco ladybag.

I always need a pop of colour – I just can’t help myself!  I’ve added mustard cork wedges from Zomp Shoez because a maxi skirt often needs a little solidity on the shoe front.  Oh and I’m a bit on the short side.  Plus grey and mustard goes together so beautifully.

The jersey maxi skirt features a fold over waistband, with a gathered skirt so it falls beautifully and swishes as I walk.  It even has pockets.  Love that!

The grey on grey and volume really needed a belt to break it up a little and define my waist.  I’m all about waist definition. I cannot remember where I grabbed this metal plate belt from.  All I remember is that it was very very cheap.  The short length of the metal plate works like a panel to visually define my waist, adds a bit of badass ‘tude and is super comfy to wear.
