Time for another SPIN the PIN with iCurvy. Have you joined in? Every month, Jo selects a gorgeous Pinterest style image for our inspiration.
I took up the invitation to put my own spin on this fabulous image from In My Joi
I had the perfect outfit, featuring pastel printed skinny jeans in palest lavenders and greens, teamed with an hi lo cotton jumper in prettiest peach. Except I’m in the midst of a wardrobe overhaul and I can’t find anything!
Instead, I delved into the depths of my wardrobe, discovering a gorgeous Country Road pink chiffon skirt I hadn’t yet worn, a vintage Escada blazer embroidered in the prettiest of pastels and a cream bow headband from a Sportsgirl clearance sale.
I added point toe shoes. Brand new from the opshop, with the price tags still attached, and in their own embroidered shoe bag. Hello Walter Steiger leather flats, I think I love you. They worked back well with my red heart printed Leona Edmiston tights.
A pretty rose gold sequinned white knit from Shabby Sisters added the perfect ladylike touch.
A fitted blazer, skirt with pleated skirt and flats did make me feel a little bit like I should be popping out to a CWA meeting, with a plate of freshly baked scones.
I love a bit of tough pretty, but this outfit was just pretty on pretty on pretty, with sensible shapes, leaving me feeling a bit out of sorts all day. The trick to wearing a bonkers piece like this vintage jacket is to work it back with something like a leather skirt, or skinny jeans and biker boots. You’re aiming for wittily ironic, rather than genteel Nanna chic.
I accessorised with pretty Mimco lavender enamel and pearl earrings, and matchy matched my makeup. Always the Bridesmaid cream shadow from Benefit, set with a little ELES Cosmetics Mineral Matte Eyeshadow in Hyacinth, lots of lash love, flushed cheeks with Bobbi Brown Pink Peony Illuminating Powder, contouring action with Hourglass Cosmetics Ambient Lighting Wardrobe, and a pretty pink pout courtesy of Burt’s Bees Lip Crayon in Hawaiian Smolder.
Can’t wait to play along with SPIN the PIN for July!
