Hola first day of Spring! You’ve been missed. Winter, as much as I love you (and you know I do), please don’t let the door hit your arse on the way out!
Arm Party Action | my style
I rocked a fierce arm party – stacked rings, colour, mixed metals, texture … it had it all!
My hero piece is my JORD Wood Watch, the Delmar in green. A gorgeous gift from JORD, it has become my everyday staple and an essential part of my arm party.
You may have noticed how much I adore Bohemian Traders? Love ’em! I teamed their fabulous Classic Scoop Neck Dress, a lovely gift from Bohemian Traders, with fabulously funky Tightology leggings, Walter Steiger point toe flats, Kenzie earrings and Sportsgirl necklace.
I dialled down the arm party for the afternoon – unfortunately, laptops and arm party action aren’t BFFs.
Arm Party Action | how you rocked it
Meet a few of my favourite Arm Party Action players!
Meet Vintage Pip
Hello, my name is Kimba and I’m a Vintage Pip fan girl. I love the retro cute and quirky designers that Vintage Pip stocks. Plus the gorgeous girl behind Vintage Pip has become one of those modern day friends. A lovely lady whom I love sharing laughs with, despite never having actually met!
Enjoy this little interview to learn more about Philippa Cutts, the beauty and the brains behind Vintage Pip!
Do you have a life motto? Care to share?
“Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you’ll land among the stars” – Les Brown. I love that by trying we automatically achieve great things and who wouldn’t want to be amongst stars!
I’d love to hear the journey of Vintage Pip – how did it start?
Vintage Pip was born nearly three years ago. The idea for Vintage Pip grew from a tiny inkling. My quirky sense of style, especially where accessories were concerned, had frequently been commented on over the years. When I chatted to friends and family the inkling began to take on a life of its own and grew into the Vintage Pip that it is today.
Finish this sentence – right now, I’m obsessed by …
Clairy Laurence Ceramics and Art Deco jewellery
Most amazeballs business experience?
From the moment I started Vintage Pip it has been an amazing experience. I am especially blown away by the people I have met. I think in today’s world you can tend to be highly suspicious of people in general. The people I have met online and in person have amazed me and given me such encouragement and best of all their friendship.
Totes awesomesauce life memory?
Having my boys. These memories are the two most vivid and life changing moments of my life.
Life-work balance? Possible? Any tips?
Alas I am not good at balancing. I have two young boys (one in school and one at kindy), a husband who works FIFO and my baby Vintage Pip. Life can get hectic. I do however stick to a basic daily routine for my boys (more for my sanity than for theirs)
What’s your current playlist? What tunes do it for you?
My playlist is definitely just like me – quirky! In my office today I was listening to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, in the car on the postal run I was listening to Def Leopard followed by Motown classics and this evening it’s been Ed Sheeran. I happily know all the words to Oklahoma the musical, Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana (life goal to play that on guitar) Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice and can hum along to the Gypsy Kings Bamboleo!!
Who is your number one style icon?
My mum also fondly known as the Silver Fox is my absolute style icon. The Silver Fox pops up on the Vintage Pip insta feed every now and again most recently wearing a custom Baccurelli piece I commissioned for her birthday. She taught me to just be myself and appreciate that who I am and how I am would grow and change with my life experiences.
I believe in … kindness and honesty
My favourite food is … Raw Lovely Two raw cakes. Seriously they are the most amazing raw goodies I have ever tasted. Berry Bliss is my current favourite.
When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I … panic, I am a natural born worrier which tends to spill over into a panic attack every once in a while to keep me on my toes.
I dance like … I am about to break something!
Vintage Pip curates a collection of quirky, colourful and kitsch accessories, sourced from independent designers worldwide.
Vintage Pip have given me two absolutely gorgeous The Moby Duck vintage-inspired bangles, cast from a celluloid original.
I will choose one very lucky #ArmPartyAction #SpringFling participant who will win both – in the true spirit of an arm party!
Meet Jord Wood Watches
I received a gorgeous JORD Wood Watch, and it’s become part of my everyday style. I selected the Delmar in Green Sandalwood & Green Carbon. It’s a men’s watch – I just adore the juxtaposition of a chunky watch on my narrow wrist. I often add a delicate bracelet to heighten the tough pretty effect.
I love this statement by JORD Wood Watch. I’m all about continuing the conversation at Kimba Likes. My JORD Wood Watch starts the conversation every single time I wear it. Where did I get it? What is it made of? How cool is it? That last one is a rhetorical question – we all know the answer, obvs!
JORD have a little treat if you’d like your very own JORD Wood Watch. 10% off from now until 15th September. Just use code kimbalikes at checkout. Click here to shop
Check out my JORD Wood Watch everyday style. It goes with everything, and I love starting conversations.
