wearing striped pants | Style it Project November
Style it Project was born out of a desire to wear the same piece of clothing. Rachael from Redcliffe Style picked up a super cute shirt from Big W a few years ago, and I totes copied her style and bought the same piece. That’s what we call inspiration in social media land!
Rachael and I are both style bloggers of a similar vintage but different body shapes. From this, we realised how much fun – and how helpful – it would be for everyday women who share their daily style on Instagram to see how the same piece looked on lots of different women. Different ages, shapes, sizes, styles.
Since May 2014, 17 pieces have been selected for Style it Project. Check out how I wore our latest piece, striped pants.
Striped pants are a wardrobe essential. I consider stripes (and denim and leopard for that matter) to be a neutral. They really do go with anything and add a touch of insouciant flair to your outfit.
With that in mind, I’m sharing three striped pants outfits for Style it Project November with me and The Illusive Femme.
Style it Project striped pants | shorts
Yes, shorts are pants. Well, they are for the purposes of Style it Project anyway!
These Rockmans shorts are sold out now, sadly. I’m in love with them. They look chic for days when you’re bodding about in a pair of shorts, they sit beautifully and don’t creep up where shorts have no right to be.
Style it Project stripe pants | droppies
Not everyone loves the hell out of a pair of droppies, but everyone should! They’re ridiculously comfortable and look equally as fab with kicks as they do with heels.
I’ve teamed my Boom Shankar Jasmin pants with a Rockmans chambray T shirt and Dion Lee for Target skater kicks. Accessorised with Ruby & Lilli Azure Tassel scarf, Sussan tassel necklace and my current favourite sunnies, purple tortoiseshell clubmaster style from Mimco.
Style it Project stripe pants | faux jumpsuit
I love the heck out of a jumpsuit, but for someone who drinks as much water as I do and whose swollen hands struggle with buttons and zips, it’s living life on the edge. The trick is to fake it until you make it!
Team two coordinating pieces for a faux jumpsuit look that you can go to the loo in easily!
Style it Project | how you wore it
Check out uber babes wearing striped pants for Style it Project. Rachael from Ruby & Lilli is wearing head to toe her own brand – earrings, T shirt, striped pants, scarf. I love that! Keep an eye out for her Indigo T shirt which is on its way.
Style it Project | how to play
Four different women and four different looks. Emma from The Illusive Femme and I would love you to join in and showcase how you wear striped pants.
This is the easiest challenge ever. Do they go on your bottom half? Do they have legs? Are they striped? Then wear ’em, style ’em, snap ’em and share ’em! Tag @kimbalikes @theillusivefemme #StyleitProject. If you’re wearing our hero piece, the Ruby & Lilli stripe peg pant, tag @rubyandlilli #RubyandLilli #RubyandLilliLovers
