Have you joined Rachel from Redcliffe Style and me before for Style it Project? It’s so much fun!
October’s piece was a beautiful white eyelet cotton dress – which I got to wear precisely once during the month because, you know, I was doing Frocktober and rocking 31 dresses in 31 days to raise funds and awareness for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
If you’ve got any spare cash, I’d love a last minute donation. Click here – and thank you!
Style it Project | what’s it all about?
Style it Project is all about Rachel and I choosing one piece every month – an affordable, easily accessible piece – and inviting you to share your style. It’s so interesting to see how lots of different people choose to style it. I get fabulous ideas every month!
Style it Project | Katies Shoulder Zip Tee
Time to unveil the next fabulous piece in the Style it Project lineup. Et voila! The Shoulder Zip tee from Katies. It’s available in two different stripe patterns, and is one of those pieces every summer wardrobe needs.
The curved hem is perfectly shaped to wear loose, and works well tucked in, or with a half tuck into the front of your waistband. The wide scoop neckline is flattering, as is the gentle shaping of the top. I just love the shoulder zip detail on the extended sleeves. You can’t beat a classic Breton stripe for style – but I do love a little extra oomph!
It’s only $29.95 and available in sizes S to 2XL. I’m wearing the L in these images as I wanted to wear it oversized with summer cutoffs and tucked into full printed cotton skirts. Plus, well, EnormoBoobs just look better in a more relaxed fit when it comes to stripes.
You’re welcome to use a similar striped top you may already have in your wardrobe.
Style it Project | what I wore
For the first outing of the November Style it Project striped tee, I wore it with my summer uniform. A striped tee, flat sandals, a scarf worn as a hairbow and cutoffs. This outfit is going to be on high rotation over the next few months!
It was a lovely family day, with plans for a family bike ride that just kinda never happened. Instead, we pottered at home, and went on an adventure to track down a new barbecue. The Welshman took us on another misson – to purchase wood and brackets for an industrial chic bunny hideout for Bowie Bonbon. I had fondly imagined I’d repurpose an old pallet I had stored in the garage but ow, splinters, and phew, sawing is hard work! The Welshman came to to the rescue and Bowie Bonbon immediately dived inside his new hideyhole and barely emerged for the rest of the day. We’re taking that as a sign of approval!
Oh, and check back tomorrow when I’m sharing my easy peasy lemon squeezy guide on how to make your own denim cutoff shorts. You’re welcome!
