Fun fact – the nickname for baby platypi is a puggle! Isn’t that adorable!
When I was pregnant with the Teenager formerly known as Boyo, we called the baby bump Puggle. It seemed fitting that a very Australian thing, like the monotreme, would be the perfect bump name for the offspring of an expat Kiwi and an expat Welshman.
So guess what I said when those fabulous girls at Jericho Road Clothing asked me if I was interested in showing off the gorgeous new Platy print? Um, of course it was a jolly huge resounding YES PLEASE!
Jericho Road Clothing is designed by two sisters, who grew up on Jericho Road in rural Queensland. I love finding out little snippets like this. I was super excited to meet Chloe and Kate at Nikki’s Styling You the Label launch. They were just as warm, talented and colourful as I had imagined.
I’ve been a Jericho Road fangirl for a while! I love their fun prints, flattering designs and basically just how adorable they are. Both their clothing and the girls!
I chose the Platy dress, featuring a gorgeous design of a platypus doing what a platypus does, on an olive green background. A sleeveless collarless design with a three button placket in a luxe linen cotton blend. $170 for a fabulous piece of Australiana.
I’m wearing the size 18, and it’s a relaxed fit. I wear size 12 to size 18, depending on the brand, cut and style, so do make sure you check the detailed measurements on site.
At 165cm, I’m on the tall side of short (it’s something someone very nice said to me years ago and I’ve never forgotten – it’s the only way I’ll ever be described as tall!) and the dress is just above my knee.
It has a pleat in the reverse which gives it gorgeous movement. I’m going to layer it in the winter with a merino long sleeve T shirt, tights and ankle boots.
Keep an eye on Jericho Road Clothing’s Instagram and their Stories for sneak wearing peeks. The gorgeous Brooke from @what_brooke_wore is showcasing the sweet Platy playsuit, and you’ll spot the Platy shirt on a JRC husband in their feed too! So you’d better give them a follow!
OK then, enough teasing! Set your alarms for 7pm AEST on Sunday 10 March and you can have some Platy gorgeousness in your life too!
