wearing the wrap mini skirt
You know some days you’re just feeling it? Yeah, that was me, wearing my new wrap mini skirt in the weekend.
After a week quite like no other, I was finally feeling a bit better! Want to hear about my very interesting week?
I have a very talented friend who is a director who asked me to help out the previous week as a casting assistant for a TV commercial. Monday saw me spending the day as a coordinator, wardrobe assistant and even extra for the shoot. Such fun!
Tuesday was my birthday. The Festival of Kimba was as awesome as expected. Forty fricking three, baby!
Wednesday, I spent the day prepping for my day surgery on Thursday. I cannot tell you how pleased I am to report that my surgeon said that he was sure that the polyps he removed weren’t cancerous, but was equally sure that they would have been within a few years’ time. So, you know, make sure you put yourself on your To Do list.
Friday, I took it easy and took myself out for a little walk in the sunshine. Gotta get that Vitamin D therapy. Not to mention the almond milk chai latte which is my new Kimba Likes Daily Treats go to.
Saturday? Saturday I was feeling fab and needed an outfit to match.
wearing the wrap mini skirt
I’m mad for all things wrap, tie and knot. When I received a birthday discount code for Forever New, I made a beeline for the wrap mini skirt that I’d spotted in store.
The elastic waist sits smoothly, allowing it to be exposed when wearing the wrap mini skirt. This also means it’s uber flattering because it doesn’t dig in, and can be worn at the most flattering spot. Although it’s a mini skirt, it’s maxi on the mini. Super stretchy fabric combined with a lining adds to the flattery. I’m wearing the 16 because I wanted a little extra wriggle room.
The faux wrap styling disguises and enhances. Can we talk about the knotted tie? It is the perfect tummy disguiser and I couldn’t love it more. When wearing the wrap mini skirt, it can be placed higher or lower, plus the skirt can be turned to create a different look. I do love versatility in my clothes.
I started with a black base comprised of gifted Bella Bodies LS Camyz and Sussan super opaque tights, completed with black leather Country Road ankle boots. I have four LS Camyz and they’ve been on pretty high rotation this winter. They’re the perfect wash and wear layering piece.
I accessorised with my favourite Gorman funky frames, and an accessory I’ve been on the lookout for – a neck tie. This one is from Australian label Motto. click here to shop
It adds insouciant charm, is bang on trend and does double figure flattery duty by both elongating my torso and disguising my collapsing neck. Not bad for $19.95, right?
Have you worn an outfit recently that made you feel like you were just a little bit fabulous? Do tell!
