Winter Style File | layer player outfits

Kimba Likes Winter Style File | layer player

I’ve got to admit that I’m really struggling this winter. My mobility has been affected and my health is suffering.  I’ve had the virus that just will not quit and I’m quite sore and cross and grumpy.

But my one winter saviour is busting some layer player action.  Man, I love layering. I’m sharing a couple of my favourite recent layer player outfits.

Boyo and I headed into the city to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.  What a schmozzle the centre of Sydney is at the moment.  Fingers crossed all the road closures and traffic redirections and bus stop relocations are worth it when the light rail is extended.

I teamed three thrifted items with my stalwart blue suede Hush Puppies boots. Three years old and still going strong.  A Country Road long line denim shirt, Gorman Botanical boyfriend jeans and Gorman poodle sweater from the 2015 Ladies of Leisure collection.  Thrifted from Red Cross Rozelle, Facebook BSS and eBay respectively.

I do so love double denim, and how cute is my poodle! I shall name her Audrey Fifibelle.

As the movies are notoriously freezing, I stayed warm with a Kmart padded vest and stripey Holeproof Explorer socks.  They’re a winter staple for toasty tootsies.

I love this oversized tunic knit.  It’s so soft and warm and layers like a dream.  Plus look at that pop of colour! I have an oh so pretty blush one from Betty Lane, and this vibrant one is from My Bargains. It drapes beautifully and the wide boat neck is perfect for layering over a shirt.

Teamed with Planet Shoes Fefi navy boots, Mavi mid rise skinnies from Just Jeans, and vintage Bohemian Traders plaid shirt, it was the perfect school holiday outfit to get shiz done in style.

Kimba Likes layer player | wearing Karen Walker and Boom Shankar

tough pretty layer player

Oh how I adore this Boom Shankar frock!  It sold out quick as a flash and I can see why.  The scoop neck is a little chilly for a winter’s day but my Target merino spencer (only $25! Run don’t walk!) works perfectly layered underneath.

The fit and flare shape is perfect for my figure. I do love a waist faking frock. It also has the prettiest split skirt, like two petals crossed over.

Loving the heck out of this gorgeous Karen Walker leather jacket I thrifted recently.  See more of it here

My legs are schnuggly warm in emerald velvet H&M leggings and look, it’s navy ankle boots again.  It’s like I have a thing for blue or something. Oh wait …

I hope you’re faring well this winter. Are you a layer player too?
