7 lippies in 7 days beauty challenge

7 lippies in 7 days

You may have noticed I love a good challenge!  I’m just freshly off 31 dresses in 31 days for Frocktober, smack bang in the middle of Style it Project November, currently participating in Rule Breakers Club Forbidden Pairs with iCurvy and finished up 7 Lippies in 7 Days with Fashionista in Suburbia.

Why do I love a style challenge? It is a great opportunity to shake up my everyday style, provides an opportunity to whip out some old favourites (and pass on some that didn’t make the cut), and get some inspiration from other participants; plus it’s a tonne of fun!

Let’s check out my week of lippy!

7 lippies in 7 days | nude

I love lippy but I have to admit that a nude lip is not my thing.  This Elizabeth Arden lipgloss is as close to nude as I get!

Wearing Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lipgloss in Rosegold.  I always pick one of these up as I head through international departures as they have them on the counter for only a tenner.  Can’t go wrong! Super pretty colour with a rose gold sparkle, comfy feeling on the lips and relatively long lasting for a gloss.

7 lippies in 7 days | orange

I love a bold orange lip, but I was unable to locate any of mine on the day! I cheated a little with a coral lippy.

I’m wearing Marc Jacobs Beauty Kiss Pop in Heartbreaker.  It’s a long lasting highly pigmented lippy with a matte finish.  The formulation contains honey, a natural humectant, so make a beeline for this lippy at Sephora!

7 lippies in 7 days | pink

On Wednesdays, we wear pink.  That’s so fetch! I’m wearing a rather fetching orchid pink combination, made from combining a matte lippy and a pink gloss.

I’m wearing NARS Audacious Lipstick in Fanny topped with Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss in Love

7 lippies in 7 days | berry purple

Getting my berry purple on with NARS x Steven Klein Killer Shine Lip Gloss in Provoke.  It was a limited edition from a collaboration last year.

It was the perfect lippy to choose, as it starts out as a bold deep purple and mellows to a berry tone.

7 lippies in 7 days | red

I have trouble with red lipsticks as they often end up as a hot or dark pink on me; not that rich classic red tone I crave.

Enter Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick!  I’m wearing Icon, a well named iconic red shade.

It not only holds its colour but lasts and lasts and lasts a bit longer too.  For a liquid lipstick, it is extremely comfortable on the lips too.

I love a bit of mix and match in my wardrobe and the same goes for my lippy! I’ve started with a base of Urban Decay High Color Lipgloss in Quiver and added a pop of Lancome Juicy Shaker in Bohemian Raspberry.

I picked up a few Urban Decay goodies at Sydney Airport duty free recently, and am rather taken with my new toy, the Juicy Shaker.  It’s described as Pigmented Infused Bi-Phase Lip Oil, in the sweetest cocktail shaker-esque packaging.  Shake it off!

7 lippies in 7 days | favourite

Asking me to choose a favourite lipstick is like asking me to choose a favourite child.  Actually, it’s far more difficult as I only have one baby!

In the end, I rummaged in my lippy tin on my dressing table and came up with IT Cosmetics Blurred Lines Smooth Fill Lipstick in the prettily pink Je Ne Sais Quoi. I was sucked in by its anti-ageing promises.  As someone who suffers from very dry lips (thank you very much, autoimmune disease), I’m always on the lookout for something to help keep my lips hydrated in style.  Super impressed with this one, although I don’t feel it is as quite as pigmented as it could be.

Did you play along too? What’s your favourite lippy colour? Brand? Do you like to mix it up or wear the same shade all the time?

I was all set to play along, got through the first two days and then went down like a sack of the proverbial with illness. Deeply annoying.ReplyCancel

  • LoveyourWardrobe - 16 November 2016 - 10.23 am

I played along intermittently last week, I couldn’t quite get my act together. My favourite lippy is now my custom created Lipstick from The Lip Lab (Ballarat) that i made to replace having to pop one colour on top of another to create a specific colour i was after…great idea!ReplyCancel

This is a great idea for a challenge! I only have one lippie though, haha! Otherwise I’d get on board!

Thank you for the link up.ReplyCancel

I always follow along with these challenges but am never quite organised enough to take photos and participate. I rediscovered my Lancome Juicy Shaker when I wrote this week’s blog post about the new Lancome Cushion Blush Subtil. The Juicy Shakers are so fun! I love the shade of yours!
