Bagvember with Borne Naked | Week 1

Bagvember?  What’s all that about then?  The lovely Amanda from Borne Naked is fundraising for the Sydney branch of Dress for Success, an excellent charity aiding women by equipping them for the workplace with outfits, skills and confidence.

A selection of gorgeous bags have been donated and are being auctioned off over the four weeks of Bagvember, with all proceeds going directly to the Sydney branch of Dress for Success.

Click here to check out the goodies on offer and bid, bid, bid!

Other ways that you can participate in Bagvember and spread the word is snap a picture of your daily handbag to share on social media, tagging @bornenaked and #bagvember.

I’m challenging myself to share a different bag every day of the month.  Yes, my bag collection is as ridiculous as my frock collection, but please remember I am an op shopper of extreme awesomeness and quite possibly the only person in the world who has purchased a genuine leather jacket, Miu Miu leather tote, vintage Missoni knit, Veronika Maine blouse, Scooby Doo Pillow Pet and a mint condition copy of Stephanie Alexander’s The Cook’s Companion for $50 from Rozelle Markets.  I actually tried to give them more money but to no avail.

I love your Luella the best so far ,that is one thing I don’t own as much of bags I like to “wear the same bag nearly everyday though I do own a few squishy soft leather ones but my favourite is my new Nancybird I got for my Birthday!ReplyCancel

    • Kim-Marie Williams - 17 November 2013 - 6.47 am

Happy Birthday! I keep eyeing up Nancybird bags – I think I might have to treat myself one day. The Luella is extremely heavy as it has lots of buckles and zips and heavy metal accessories – but she is lovely, expandable and biker chic!ReplyCancel

Your bag collection is drool worthy! Great initiative, sorry I only came across it now..just spent some time on your blog and love your posts xReplyCancel

    • Kim-Marie Williams - 17 November 2013 - 6.48 am

Oh, thanks Pippa! How lovely of you! Are you going to join in the Bagvember fun?

Luckily, I live in an area where there are excellent op shops, vintage boutiques and markets, not to mention a very good outlet centre.ReplyCancel

  • Fair, Fake and Fifty - 14 November 2013 - 4.48 am

Wow, oh wow, love your bags. I don’t think I will be able to keep up with you! 🙂 I was the proud owner of a Prada handbag a few years back, today the closest I come to a designer label is a fake Jimmy Choo!ReplyCancel

    • Kim-Marie Williams - 17 November 2013 - 6.49 am

Ah, it’s not about keeping up, it’s about enjoying what you’ve got! I clearly don’t have enough attention span to carry the same bag for an extended period!ReplyCancel

  • Vanessa - 13 November 2013 - 7.44 pm

I love it KM, you’ve got some hot bags going on to match those hot looks of yours. Love your Mox too! I am a big fan of dressed for success too. I donated all my pre kids suits to them and felt great about giving away blazers that cost more than my rego 15 years ago!ReplyCancel

    • Kim-Marie Williams - 17 November 2013 - 6.51 am

Thanks Vanessa. I’ve donated quite a few pieces on as well. Classic suiting pieces do last quite well with updated accessories. Plus doesn’t it make you feel good to know that you’re helping someone who needs a hand up at the moment.

I didn’t realise how often I wore my Mox until I was putting together posts with a week’s worth of outfits! Rest assured, they’re washable so they’re always nice and clean!ReplyCancel

  • Sonia - 13 November 2013 - 1.28 pm

Jeez Kim-Marie, you are an absolute trooper. An entire month of frocks immediately followed up by an entire month of bags! Good on you, darling. xReplyCancel

    • Kim-Marie Williams - 13 November 2013 - 7.03 pm

To be quite honest, Sonia, I’m exhaustipated! But it is a jolly good idea to review my handbags!ReplyCancel

  • Kelly @ Kiwi Womens Style - 13 November 2013 - 7.37 am

I desperately need to come shopping with you! Love that yellow Kate Spade bag soooo much. Great cause to support too xoReplyCancel
