Beauty Duty | ELES Cosmetics Brighton Nail Collection
ELES Cosmetics introduce a new luxurious collection of twelve vibrant pastel nail colours inspired by the bold and brightly coloured seaside huts of the UK’s infamous Brighton Beach.
The range is designed to provide a healthy and safe alternative to creating beautiful nails. The range proudly boasts a ‘5 FREE’ formula – no DBP, No Toluene, NO Formaldehyde, NO Formaldehyde Resin and NO Camphor – 5 toxic ingredients commonly found in nail enamels.
With the best of Australian quality ingredients this professional patented formula holds its colour and brilliant shine for days. The range provides an outstanding lacquer experience and offers a healthy gloss for nails with extreme colour.
The ELES nail enamels are quick and easy to apply, fast drying and resistant to streaking or fading while the ingredients work to add strength, flexibility and durability to nails. With strong suspension and adherence, the enamels are hand mixed in small batches to help maintain the polish integrity.
What Kimba Likes says:
I was so thrilled to receive a beautiful delivery from ELES Cosmetics containing not only the entire Brighton Collection but a beautiful beach towel embroidered with my name. Huge kudos for getting my name right!
The shades are richly coloured and highly pigmented, with really good colour payoff from just one coat. They are shiny without being sparkly and the colours are true.
Where they win me over is the ease of use. The matte black brush handle is easy to hold and the actual brush is beautifully shaped, so that I can do the whole nail in one fanned out stroke.
I’m quite fond of a quirky name for nail polish colours and my favourite name from the Brighton Nail Collection is Teal ‘n’ Wheel. If I was absolutely pressed, I think I would nominate Berry Smoothie and Sunset on the Pier as my favourite colours – I think they team beautifully together. The biggest surprise for me was Lime Sorbet, which looks scarily neon in the bottle but is really lovely applied to the nail, with a subtle sparkle.
I do not get much more than a day or so out of a manicure, whether home or professional, as I have really weak bendy nails. Plus I can never find my dishwash gloves. But I got a good two days out of these, and with another quick coat, they lasted for two more days. I am very impressed!
Would I buy again?
I was sent this product range for trial and review purposes. At $15 for a long wearing colour, hand mixed in small batches, I would definitely purchase these fab nail colours.
Beauty Duty | Katy Perry Killer Queen Oh So Sheer EDP
A new facet of Killer Queen is born, Oh So Sheer.
Katy Perry’s second Killer Queen scent captures the essence of the daring signature fragrance, with fresher femininity that is inspired by a modern and ethereal ultra-feminine bouquet. This playful take on the original is perfect for Katy Perry fanatics looking for a lighter, more translucent scent.
This enchanting essence opens with opulent accents of Purple Plum infused by a delightful blend of Mulberry, Blackberry and Elderberries for a bold and modern inflection.
At the heart of the fragrance, the signature bouquet of graceful Rainbow Plumeria and precious Red Velvet Flower has been sheered out with radiant accents of Purple Freesia and Lilac for a more ethereal expression of the floral essence.
As the fragrance unwraps, the richness of Natural Patchouli Heart is softened by a magnified veil of silken Cashmeran and creamy Liquid Praline, creating an addictive yet weightless sensuality. A new essence of spontaneous and natural femininity.

Like Miss Perry herself, the bottle is shapely and confident with a nod to retro cute. It is a little awkward without a flat base, but fits beautifully on my bathroom counter when placed on the faceted side.
I have tried the original Katy Perry Killer Queen fragrance which is richer and spicier. Oh So Sheer, as you would expect, is a lighter and prettier version which has a sparkling sensation to the scent.
On application, the first wave of scent is of berries. As it softens, the almost soapy scent of fresh lilacs is very pretty. It is given depth with an almost woody scent, which I had to look up to determine was patchouli. I asked the Blokefolk what they thought of it and their responses were “fruity” and “you smell like yummy fruit, Mum”.
It is a little fruitier than fragrances I would usually wear, but I’m finding that refreshing on hot sticky summer days. I find that it layers beautifully on my skin with the traces of scent left by my Philosophy Amazing Grace shower gel. It lasts well and makes me feel prettily feminine.
Would I buy again?
I was sent this product for review and trial purposes. I think I prefer the slightly more sophisticated scent of the original Killer Queen, but should I happen to find myself in front of the Priceline perfume cabinets during their fabulous perfume sales, I would definitely put down my hard earned cash to buy myself this pretty summer fragrance.
