Big Four Oh My Gods | The Big Day

Yes, you’re absolutely right.  My Big Four Oh My Gods birthday was, in fact, weeks ago, but I’ve got so many memories and photos to share, you’ll have to bear with me!

My morning kicked off with opening a huge pile of fabulous presents in bed with my visiting mother and the Blokefolk.  I got right royally spoiled!

Breakfast in bed followed, then the Welshman took Boyo to school while the Mother and I were still faffing about.  Next up, coffee with the Gorgeous Girls and a little Kimba Likes Daily Treats action in the form of an absolutely ginormous passionfruit melting moment at Il Piave.

After spending pretty much all day Thursday shopping til we were just about dropping, why, the Mother and I did it all over again on Friday!  Believe it or not, I had actually had enough of shopping for a while.  Yes, I was shocked too.

We met the Gorgeous Girls at Rosebud in Rozelle for some birthday Champagne.  Oh, and and some more cake, of course!  Bless their little cotton socks.

The Blokefolk prepared a gorgeous birthday dinner, including a lovely bottle of wine, a huge roasted beef rib, teensy roasted baby spuds and salad extraordinaire “made with love so it tastes better”, by Boyo.

There was an extravaganza of Adriano Zumbo desserts – something delicious for everyone!  What an awesomely fabulous day.  This 40 thing rocks!

In true Festival of Kimba style, the party started the night before when we met our gorgeous friends, in Australia on an over-far-too-soon gap year, who were returning to the UK in the weekend.  We had a fabulous dinner at Public Dining Room at Balmoral and we closed the restaurant.  Two nights later, it was the Private Dining Room at Cafe Sydney and we closed the restaurant.  Again!

I was absolutely bombarded with messages of absolute gorgeousness on social media – how lovely you all are!  The Big Four Oh My Gods really is fabulous!
