How to wear Boatneck Stripes with Big Boobs

Smash the Fashion Rules Short Shorts

It’s time to smash the fashion rules again!  Girls with big boobs shouldn’t wear boatnecks.  Apparently we shouldn’t wear stripes either.  Boo hiss to that!

Click over here at Sonia Styling to read my guide to wearing stripes if you have big boobs – smashed!

Now, let’s sort out how to wear boatneck stripes when you’ve got big boobs.  Boatneck styles aren’t recommended for girls with big boobs because there is just too much expanse fabric without cleavage to break it up.

This is where the stripes come into their own.  They break up the expanse of fabric across your boobage.   I say Yes Way Rosé to boatnecks.  I’m sharing a really simple trick on how to wear boatneck stripes with big boobs

When you’ve got big boobs, wearing stripes successfully comes down to lots of different factors, such as:

  • the fabric
  • placement of stripes
  • pattern variegation
  • colour
  • fit

How to wear Boatneck Stripes with Big Boobs

The trick to wearing boatneck stripes with big boobs is largely placement.

Just check out this comparison picture and you’ll see what I mean.

On the Hell Yes! image, the stripes are evenly spaced and the neckline is worn higher.  This has the benefit of showing off pretty decolletage.

On the Oh No! image, the neckline has suffered from the weight of a pair of bazoonkas and the stripes have stretched unattractively across my tummy.

I haven’t lost 5 kgs and I haven’t had a boob lift.  Literally, I’ve straightened up my top.

Yup, it’s as simple as that.  On the Yes example, I’ve pulled the top higher so that the neckline isn’t sagging, and so that the stripes are sitting horizontally and evenly.  I’ve pulled the bottom hem down so it sits more evenly over my stomachtacular region.

The wider neckline of the boatneck top has the additional benefit of balancing the width of my skirt, making my waist look far trimmer than it actually is.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy!  Another fashion rule smashed!

Love your “let’s keep it real” style! I would say that horizontal striped tops are also good for us ladies with smaller chests — because they can help boost the bust area! 🙂ReplyCancel

Love this look on you. Not sure if you saw the callout on AMC but Jet Empire Jewellery were looking for a couple of brand ambassadors for their new collection.

Looks like I’m a tad early for the link up. Will pop back in 10 mins. No idea why I’m up at 3:50am 🙂ReplyCancel
