Kimba Likes Borne Naked Bagvember : Day 14

It’s Bagvember Day 14 – a day in which I was running so hideously late, I was still partially dressed with unbrushed teeth, wet hair and no makeup by 8.35 am.  Made it to school by 9.05 am.  I am the awesome!  Might explain the outfit though, just quietly.

My bag du jour for Bagvember Day 14 is a caramel Annapelle leather bag with a woven front section and silver hardware. It is a very easy bag to carry and wear.  I found this little baby in Recycled Vintage in Rozelle for the princely sum of $10.  Couldn’t resist.

Today’s outfit is a hot mess – with less emphasis on the hot!  I was wearing Country Road cinnamon drapey pants, a Sadie cream lace top and Wittner cream sandals this morning, until I went outside and realised Sydney had returned to a wintry state.  Not only completely ruining our eclipse viewing, but forcing me to get changed too!

I wore a Veronica Maine skirt – in an unusual grey-green with pink woven stripes – which I received in the Rozelle Red Cross Clothes Exchange Event, with a black singlet, merlot tights by Spanx, Country Road brown leather ballet flats, a tan Cue belt, a Fat Face scarf and a cobalt Country Road cropped woollen cardigan – in November.  Sydney, you’re a cold mess.  A rainy cold mess!

My hair accessory du jour is a piece from Finders Keepers Markets, constructed out of vintage measuring tape and a button.  I’ve added this to the list of things I’m going to attempt to make one day.  It’s a loooong list.

So, what is this Bagvember stuff all about?

Have you heard about Borne Naked handbag liners?  I love to swap bags and I use mine all the time.

Amanda George from Borne Naked has a Handbag Blog, where she showcases everything handbags.  She’s a little bit obsessed (I know the feeling well!).

Amanda has issued a challenge for November.  Firstly, she’s nicknamed it Bagvember, and it’s all about changing handbags every day for the month of November.  Amanda thinks she probably has at least 100 bags.

I’m going to accept the challenge and change my handbag every day.  For reasons of practicality, I’m not committing to 30 handbags in 30 days, but I am committing to changing my handbag every day.

My darling 8 year old Boyo loved Frocktober and very proudly told everyone he met that his mama was doing Frocktober.  He brainstormed a pile of ideas for what I could do in November, and Bagvember was one of his ideas.  It’s fate really, isn’t it!  He also came up with Lipstickvember and Bravember and Knickervember.  Hmmmm …

Amanda will be posting pics of her daily Bagvember bag on FacebookInstagram and Pinterest.

If you feel like joining her (and me!), here’s the easy instructions of how to join in!

1)      Add your photo to your personal page tagging @BorneNaked or onto the Borne Naked FB page

2)      Post on Instagram using hashtags #BorneNakedChallenge #HandbagADay

3)      Post on Twitter using hashtags #BorneNakedChallenge #HandbagADay

You can follow my Handbag a Day adventures on TwitterInstagram and Facebook.  I’d love for you to join in the fun!

Why thank you 🙂 Yup, they’re super handy. Really, really good for baby bags too because they’re plastic and cleanable. Make a fab nappy wallet too.ReplyCancel
