Kimba Likes Borne Naked Bagvember : Day 15

Bagvember Day 15 is a Thursday, but really it is my Friday.  I’m lucky enough to work four part-time days and have every Friday off.  Oh, how I love my three day weekends!

Day 15’s bag is a tan leather studded bag that I bought from a most excellent stall at the Rozelle Markets – a bunch of fashion PR girls selling off the overflowing contents of their wardrobes.  It is a no label bag inspired by an Alexander Wang design.  Not a fake though, as that is not cool.  So not cool.

It is the loveliest leather but not an every day bag – it’s just too heavy to carry around and the straps aren’t quite long enough for wearing as a shoulder bag.

Today’s outfit is a terracotta Mimco woven straw hairbow, Von Troska floral jacket, Sadie lace top from Meshh, my favourite shop in Byron Bay, my Mecino moth wing necklace and Sportsgirl pants.  They’re not red, they’re not brown, they’re not cinnamon.  I’m going to call them a bright terracotta.

The prompt for November Photo a Day was “in my bag”.  Perfectly designed for Bagvember!  Rayban prescription sunnies, Rayban prescription glasses, bus pass, Oroton key ring, MOR hand cream, deodorant, Marc for Marc Jacobs headphones, Mimco wallet and Burberry makeup purse had room to move in my bag today.

So, what is this Bagvember stuff all about?

Have you heard about Borne Naked handbag liners?  I love to swap bags and I use mine all the time.

Amanda George from Borne Naked has a Handbag Blog, where she showcases everything handbags.  She’s a little bit obsessed (I know the feeling well!).

Amanda has issued a challenge for November.  Firstly, she’s nicknamed it Bagvember, and it’s all about changing handbags every day for the month of November.  Amanda thinks she probably has at least 100 bags.

I’m going to accept the challenge and change my handbag every day.  For reasons of practicality, I’m not committing to 30 handbags in 30 days, but I am committing to changing my handbag every day.

My darling 8 year old Boyo loved Frocktober and very proudly told everyone he met that his mama was doing Frocktober.  He brainstormed a pile of ideas for what I could do in November, and Bagvember was one of his ideas.  It’s fate really, isn’t it!  He also came up with Lipstickvember and Bravember and Knickervember.  Hmmmm …

Amanda will be posting pics of her daily Bagvember bag on FacebookInstagram and Pinterest.

If you feel like joining her (and me!), here’s the easy instructions of how to join in!
