Kimba Likes Borne Naked Bagvember : Day 18

Bagvember Day 18 was the second day of a very relaxed and cruisy weekend – lots of family time and sofa snuggles and good food and steadfastly ignoring the disaster zone that is an overstuffed wardrobe.  When the weather is so variable, I can’t put half of it into storage and not all of it fits in the actual space.  It’s more of a step in wardrobe than a walk in at the best of times!

Today’s bag is a lovely leather Missoni vintage printed bag with a fixed strap and flap opening.  It really is adorable.  I found her on eBay.  She’s probably destined for my gorgeous vintage and retro-loving teenage niece eventually.  When I can bear to pass her on.  She’d suit a teenager more than me, but I am adoring the bright colour pops!

We headed off to the swimming pool for the blokefolk to have a good splash around – I don’t swim unless it is a tropical holiday and there are poolside cocktail waiters.  I really should get in and walk a few laps for the low impact exercise, but the human soup and bombing teenagers puts me off just a tad.

The outfit du jour was colourful comfort all the way baby.  I teamed my zippered Country Road skinny orange jeans with a striped Sussan tee and my very favourite summer sandals.  They’ve got new liners and have been resoled and I’m hoping they’ll last the season.  If Wittner could bring this style back, I’d buy them in every colour – and probably two of my favourites!

So, what is this Bagvember stuff all about?

Have you heard about Borne Naked handbag liners?  I love to swap bags and I use mine all the time.

Amanda George from Borne Naked has a Handbag Blog, where she showcases everything handbags.  She’s a little bit obsessed (I know the feeling well!).

Amanda has issued a challenge for November.  Firstly, she’s nicknamed it Bagvember, and it’s all about changing handbags every day for the month of November.  Amanda thinks she probably has at least 100 bags.

I’m going to accept the challenge and change my handbag every day.  For reasons of practicality, I’m not committing to 30 handbags in 30 days, but I am committing to changing my handbag every day.

My darling 8 year old Boyo loved Frocktober and very proudly told everyone he met that his mama was doing Frocktober.  He brainstormed a pile of ideas for what I could do in November, and Bagvember was one of his ideas.  It’s fate really, isn’t it!  He also came up with Lipstickvember and Bravember and Knickervember.  Hmmmm …

Amanda will be posting pics of her daily Bagvember bag on FacebookInstagram and Pinterest.

If you feel like joining her (and me!), here’s the easy instructions of how to join in!
