Hair Evolution in the time of Boyo

Buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy ride through the years of my hair in the time of Boyo!  Good gods – I’m blaming pregnancy brain for most of the looks!

April 2005  | feeding my newborn on the first day home

It’s our first day home from hospital, and I’m rocking the wet hair scraped back into a ponytail look so beloved by timepoor and exhaustipated new mothers.

April 2005 |  Boyo’s first birthday party

Boyo’s first birthday and I’ve embraced dark hair dye and far too much hair product!

April 2009 | at Taronga Zoo, again

I’m now the mother of a five year old and I’m battling chronic illness (which explains the Nanna walking shoes).  For some reason I have gone blonde.  I don’t know why either.

April 2010

My baby Boyo is now six and he’s clever as clever.  I wish he’d stay six now for ever and ever.  Six really is a lovely age!  I appear to have gone red – I actually don’t remember this!  Still in love with the gHD obvs.

April 2011 | in Sanctuary Cove, Queensland

For Boyo’s seventh birthday, we’re on holiday in Queensland and our holiday house DOES NOT HAVE A HAIRDRYER.  Who does that?!  So, it’s ponytails all week long.  Turns out seven is pretty awesome too.  x

April 2012 | in Nusa Dua, Bali

Boyo’s eighth birthday and we’re sweating like swine in Bali.  I’ve got a hairdryer but it’s too hot to use it.  Hence the mad airdryed curls!

And flash forward to now, when I’ve embraced my curls, cropped my locks and am loving my hair sick!

Hope you enjoyed that little trip down memory lane with me – how cute was my little man?

You have such versatile hair! I’m so boring…must do something about that.ReplyCancel

Hey, I love the curls, have always longed for curly hair, as we straight hair people do. I love to chop and change with hairstyles, can’t understand when people always have the same cut – dull!ReplyCancel

I agree. After all, it’s only hair. It grows back! (Unless we’re talking eyebrows. Sometimes they don’t!). I’m loving the curls 🙂

What an awesome collection of photos! I can’t believe I didn’t pick up on the hair prompt of Cathy’s – but my Flashback Friday post does have some shocking hair styles. April 2010 you are just stunning – and I loved seeing your son grow in the photos too!ReplyCancel

What a fab way to document your journey. I had never considered how much one’s hair says about one’s situation at a given moment – health, location, frame of mind – all there in the hair! Great post.ReplyCancel

Agree with Rachel! I LOVE the blonde!!! You look fantastic in all of them, but my faves would be 2006,2009 2010. I should go back and look at my hair over the last few years as it has been al kinds of lengths and looks!ReplyCancel

Fantastic post Kim! What a great idea. Love your hair evolution. Thinking about my own hair since my first was born and I honestly don’t think there have been too many changes, but perhaps I should look into it 🙂 xReplyCancel

    • Kim-Marie Williams - 25 January 2013 - 3.50 pm

I honestly didn’t realise how many changes there had been so you may just surprise yourself. I am glad I said buh bye to that fried looking blonde though!ReplyCancel

You look so different with the straight hair! I love your curls, I always wanted to be curly, but that’s the way isn’t it?! xxReplyCancel

    • Kim-Marie Williams - 25 January 2013 - 3.49 pm

I didn’t realise it was that many years that I straightened my hair! I didn’t love the curls for years, until I figured out how to look after them properly. Now, I love them! 🙂ReplyCancel
