Kimba Likes Frocktober 2016

Kimba Likes Frocktober 2016Kimba Likes Frocktober

I’ve been rocking 31 frocks in 31 days for Frocktober since 2012.  That’s a whole lotta frocks, and a whole heap of fundraising and awareness for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

Frocktober 2015

I missed a few days this year thanks to a little thing we like to call a hysterectomy to fix my endometriosis

Frocktober 2016

Frocktober 2016 will be my fifth outing at this frock rocking gig.  Unfortunately, my autoimmune disease has returned, which may somewhat affect my Frocktobering.

When my hands are swollen and sore, zips and buttons are beyond me.  Sometimes a girl just needs a pair of jogger pants and a comfy knit.

On the days that I simply can’t manage to rock a frock, I will use my stylist sleuthing skills to pull together a fabulous frock flatlay, thanks to my girl Polyvore.

I’m not running Team Kimba Likes this year – where Frocktober ladies band together as a team – because the gorgeous women who have joined me in the past deserve more effort than I have spare at the moment.  Despite my baby-got-back butt, I just don’t want to give a half arsed effort.

I am aiming to raise $500 this year for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, to keep funding the fight for an early detection program.  I would absolutely adore your support.

Ovarian cancer is known as the silent killer because by the time most women are diagnosed, the cancer is at an advanced stage.  The symptoms can easily be written off as minor irritations that all women experience occasionally.  Frocktober fundraises with the aim of an early detection program so we can save the lives of many more Australian women.

If you are able, please donate to my OCRF Frocktober fundraising campaign

I did Frocktober many many many years ago! Part of me wants to do it again, but I know I just wouldn’t be able to do it every day. I think i’ll stick to donating like usual. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you, and everyone who joins in wears!ReplyCancel

I’m struggling a bit this year due to the autoimmune disease issues. Just getting out of bed is hard at the moment! You could do just Frock Friday or host a morning tea frock up event!ReplyCancel

There have been a couple of days when I really just want to wear leggings for the compression support, but I’m working it as best as I can!ReplyCancel

Oh good luck with your fundraising goals! 🙂 I did Frocktober for the first time last year with a bunch of ladies in the office and it was a lot of fun! I’m feeling a little constrained with dress options this year as I’m breastfeeding so I’m going to give it a miss and try again next year!

Thanks for the link up 🙂ReplyCancel

Breastfeeding comes with enough challenges as it is so that’s definitely a priority. Join me next year because it’s a tonne of fun!ReplyCancel
