HoMedics Skin+ Review and Giveaway

Brought to you by KidsBusiness and HoMedics Skin+

It’s so nearly Christmas time – and we know what comes after all that excitement, don’t we?  It’s New Year’s Eve and celebrating 2016! Yay!

Once the party mess has been cleared up, and the headache tablets have been swallowed, it’s time to think about New Year resolutions.
Kimba Likes New Years Resolution

My New Year Resolution for 2015 was Wake Up. Be Awesome. Repeat.  It worked so well for me, that I’m going to roll with it in 2016.

But I’m going to add another one.

I have been getting increasingly serious about improving my skin and staving off the signs of ageing. But one of my New Year resolutions for 2016? Treat my skin like a princess!

New Year Resolution 2016 - treat my skin like a princess. Read my HoMedics Skin+ review and enter my giveaway!

My HoMedics Newa has been helping me boost my natural collagen production. But I’m always looking for more help!

I don’t think I’m a Botox kind of girl – but I never say never.  When I was offered the chance to review the HoMedics Skin+ rejuvenating system, I was intrigued.  Plus I love the opportunity to give something awesome away to my readers!
Kimba Likes HoMedics Skin+ - ultrasonic rejuvenating skincare device review and giveaway valued at $149.95

HoMedics Skin+

The HoMedics Skin+ Skin Cleansing Rejuvenator has two items – an Ultrasonic Cleansing Brush and a Skin Rejuvenating Applicator.

First, I’m going to give you the low down on how to use each device, thanks to the lovely people at HoMedics.

Ultrasonic Cleansing Brush

  1. Remove eye makeup by hand.
  2. Attach the cleansing brush to the device and wet it with water.
  3. Apply the cleanser to your face. (Press the On/Off switch one time to start)
  4. Place the brush head against the area you wish to cleanse and move in a circular motion in each area of the face for approximately 30 seconds in each area.

  • Avoid eye area
  • For best results change the brushes on cleansing device every 3 months and the make up applicator pads every 2 months.
  • 22,000 sonic vibrations per minute, for more effective cleaning and massaging with the silicone brush
  • Add the powder puff to evenly apply liquid foundation for a natural and naked makeup finish

Skin Rejuvenator and Applicator

  1. To boost the absorption of skin care products to help hydrate and smooth the skin.
  2. After cleaning your face, apply facial lotion and use the hot massage with ultrasonic vibration mode to allow for better absorption of the skin care products.
  3. Move in a circular motion from inside to outside, bottom to top of your face.
  4. Use cool massage. After the skin care products have been fully absorbed, use the cool massage with ultrasonic vibration mode. This will help to shrink the pores and tighten and smooth the skin, which is beneficial for applying make up products.
  5. Move in a circular motion from inside to outside, bottom to top of your face.
  6. Alternating hot and cool massage settings makes for smoother, brighter and more supple skin.

  • Hot Massage and Cool Massage functions, both with Sonic Vibration options
  • The Hot Massage function operates at 42C – opens the pores and increases blood circulation to better absorb
  • The Cool Massage function operates at 6C – cools the skin to lock in the skin care products
  • Both products recharge from the supplied USB connector

Homedics Skin+ | what Kimba thinks

  • I have an ultrasonic cleansing device, but it is awkward to travel with.  The HoMedics Skin+ Ultrasonic cleanser is perfectly sized for travel
  • Both devices are USB charged – easy peasy lemon squeezy for travel and home
  • I haven’t come across something quite like the skin rejuvenator device before.  It applies heat and ultrasonic massage to your skin.  The heat mode makes your skin more supple, and the cool mode reduces puffiness.
  • I love to use the heat mode on my under eye area, followed by the cool mode – I’ve already noticed an improvement.
  • The Ultrasonic cleanser has a removable silicon brush, and can be replaced with a makeup pad for applying foundation.  I found it easier to use my hands and my brushes but it’s great to have some versatility.
  • It is recommended to use the Rejuvenating device in a circular motion, but I found it easier to press the device against my skin and then pick it up and place it against another area of skin, when using prior to makeup application.
  • After cleansing with the Ultrasonic Cleanser, my skincare absorbed very easily.
  • I found applying more skin oil than I usually use made it easier to use the Rejuvenating device in a circular motion – which is how I use it at night.
  • The 2.5 minute timer is helpful – after a few uses you work out how long to spend on each zone of the face
  • I love how my skincare is more easily absorbed and I adore how my under eye area is less puffy!
  • I’m trialling to see how it works on my neck area – my main area of concern.
