How to Wear High Neck Tops with Big Boobs

How to Wear High Neck Tops with Big BoobsI’m sharing my tips on how to wear high neck tops with big boobs.  As a lady with boobage, I tend to avoid high neck tops in favour of scoop necks and v necks.  The high neck top cut isn’t usually very flattering for ladies with frontage.

However, I do like a challenge – and I’m a sucker for stripes and polka dots, not to mention Bohemian Traders and Gorman.

How to Wear High Neck Tops with Big Boobs

I absolutely love this Gorman spotty dotty satin top.  It’s in my favourite black and blue colour combination, plus polka dots and sleeves of awesomeness.  I had been looking at it for months but deciding against it because of the high neck.  Finally, the fashion gods intervened and I found it in the Gorman outlet store at Birkenhead Point for the princely sum of $20.  Yes, $20.

Once I actually bought the top and tried it on, I realised why it would work for me.  The key on how to wear a high neck top with big boobs is all about distraction.  This top does all the hard work for me.  The oversized polka dot pattern keeps the eye moving and the waisted shape works with a curvaceous figure, to prevent the top hanging off the boobs and making the wearer look larger than they actually are.

The gorgeously detailed ruched and puffed sleeves only help with the distraction too.

I adore Bohemian Traders and am lucky to have quite a few pieces in my wardrobe.  I loved this striped top so much that I bought it in khaki & cream as well as navy & white.

Once again, I’ve employed distraction techniques in my guide on how to wear high neck tops with big boobs.  As with the Gorman top, the pattern helps to keep the eye moving.  The Bohemian Traders tops also feature a fitted arm and looser drop shoulder – fab distraction techniques.

A chunky necklace is the perfect way to add a V neck silhouette to a high necked top, like my Keep Resin necklace.  The Saba camel cardigan with ribbed detail and kimono-style sleeve narrows the torso visually.

Adding bulk and detail with the fur vest is another way of visually narrowing the torso and breaking up the high neck.  Check out the gorgeous fur vests from Bohemian Traders.  Love the Waterfall and the Clementine boho chic designs.

Ah great advice because yes, why would we want the eyes on our girls right? 😉 Another way I think is to wear super bright lippy. Definitely a distraction hahaha…LOVE that fur vest ensemble on you too!ReplyCancel

Some days we do, some days we want to wear a warm top without making ourselves look even bustier. First world problems I know. Oh and a super bright lippy is always a winner! xReplyCancel

So you do look great with those high neck tops but I just look extra frumpy if I don’t wear v neck or boat neck shirts… Maybe it’s because I have the broad shoulders too? That purple spotty top is my pick! Love the sleeves 🙂ReplyCancel

I have large boobs, but I can’t go past a high necked top! I love pairing them with a statement necklace to draw the attention from my chest to my bling! That Gorman top is fab! E xReplyCancel

I’m not that well endowed but I am carrying a bit of extra weight around at the moment & find necklines that worked for me previously aren’t sitting right at the moment.

Love the Gorman top and what a bargain. I must find time to hit the factory outlet in Perth.ReplyCancel

Yes, that’s the other issue with boobs. Sometimes they actually make your boobs look bigger if they’re not quite in the wrong spot. I love opera length beads but have major issues with them hanging over one boob!ReplyCancel

The right fitting bra also helps.ReplyCancel

Oh yes! I wish I could be the bra police. A good bra lengthens the torso and makes you look 5kg thinner in a snap. Now that’s worth getting a bra fitting right?!ReplyCancel

Oh thanks Vicki. Yes, I’m a bit fan of mixed prints, pattern on pattern, clashing prints, etc. So much fun!ReplyCancel

Just think of the necklace or vest creating a V and give it a go! xReplyCancel
