Unfortunately, my budget didn’t stretch to the Events leather pair Rachel featured. They’re currently reduced to $209.95 from $299.95 if you’ve got more money in your kitty. I’m extremely tempted … but the Welshman reminded me of my No Shopping pledge. Spoilsport.
I was delighted when I found a faux leather pair for under $50. Check out the Living Doll Wax Track Pant. Recommended retail is $59.95 but David Jones currently has them on sale for $41.96 with free delivery for cardholders, or for purchases over $50. Plus they offer a next day click and collect service for orders placed before 4pm.
The next mission is to work out how to wear leather track pants. They are a polarising piece – people either love them or hate them. I quite fancy them but I think they’re more of a cheap chic one season purchase rather than a statement investment piece. Mind you, if I had the budget, I’d so snap up the gorgeous Events pair! It’s all relative!
I think leather track pants need heels and to be dressed up with stylish accessories and chic pieces to play up the sport luxe element.
I’ve styled leather track pants three ways – for casual, for the office (or lunch with the girls) and for evening.

A touch of whimsy is added with some delightful Erstwilder Pierre’s Pug Life earrings from Vintage Pip. Adding a pop of colourful comfy chic is my beloved Sterling & Hyde loafers. Keep the essentials to hand with the cute Gigi leather clutch by Anizoe from Fashionista Depot, and carry everything else in comfort and style with the boho chic Blueberry Backpack from Bohemian Traders.

Now, you might not be able to get away with leather track pants in every office, but you would totally rock everyone’s world on Casual Friday. This would be fab for lunch out with the girls too.
A cropped waterfall jacket is flattering for many figures. Like most Metalicus jackets, it can be dressed up or dressed down and is perfect for travel. Wear it over a lace top like this Blush Daisy Burnout Lace Tee from Dorothy Perkins. The juxtaposition of the lace with the leather is fabulously tough pretty.
Add some ladylike strut with killer heels. The Aztec Sunset beaded earrings from Shabby Sisters tie in the colour scheme prettily. A classic with a twist bag like the Miley Chain Pouch from Colette Hayman works back perfectly.

The gorgeous fringed and embroidered Living Doll Day Dream Kimono from David Jones adds some boho chic, which clashes elegantly with the sexily pointed toe Alexa Bluebell Lizard Diavolino pumps.
Alternatively, the outfit could feature a printed top and embellished clutch worked back with a plain silk blazer and elegantly simple precious metal jewellery.

Would you wear any of these outfit combinations? Any tips on how to wear leather pants? Are they an investment piece, a cheap chic alternative or a no way Jose for you?
