lovely new things featured gifted items from Shopbop
Let’s have a chat about lovely new things. I’m sharing newly purchased things that are making me happy, rediscovered things, newly discovered things, and lovely new things gifted to me that I’m pretty sure you’ll think are lovely too!
lovely new things – tie waist dress
Oh, Winter, you saucy minx. The season that makes lovely snuggly outfits a viable option. I’m rather taken with the tie waist dress style. I spotted it first on my blog babe Sarah from She Writes, and filed it away for future reference.
I found this lovely olive wool Country Road Tie Waist Dress in their recent sale. I nabbed it for $60 – significantly reduced. Run don’t walk because there’s only a few left.
It’s got built in sleeves. Two sets! One to pop your arms in – handy. One to, well, tie around your waist. I luff it!
lovely new things – Kate Spade bag from Shopbop
I am super duper lucky to be working with my favourite designer destination Shopbop. I get to go shopping on a regular basis. I know right?!
I always go straight to the handbag section. I’m such a bag lady.
Meet my newest bag BFF, the adorable Kate Spade New York Maise Shoulder Bag in Ocean Blue / Adventure Blue. Isn’t she pretty?
Couldn’t resist adding a totes plaid is rad Kate Spade New York Woodland scarf to my cart. Run don’t walk because there is literally one left at the time of typing. If you miss out, don’t fret. Just head on over to the sale section and find yourself another fabulous little bargain.
lovely new things – crocheted Nanna blankets
Crocheted Nanna blankets are indeed lovely things. I have a vast collection, all rescued from opshops and thrift markets. It just breaks my heart to see all that love and hard work having been discarded and sitting there all unloved.
My crocheted Nanna blankets aren’t new. They’re preloved and I’ve had some of them for years and years. However, with the onset of winter, they’re newly in pride of place on our sofas.
My very favourite crocheted Nanna blanket is actually made by a Nanna, for a Nanna, and was given to me by another Nanna. One of my great aunts made a beautiful grey, violet and lavender baby wool crocheted blanket for my Great Gran.
I was lucky enough to have my Great Gran until I was 28 years old. She gave the Welshman her seal of approval too.
When I spent a little bit of time helping my Grandma sort through her house when she was relocating to a retirement village a few years ago, she made me a gift of this lovely thing. It perfectly coordinates with my aubergine armchair too. I treasure it like you wouldn’t believe.
Are you crushing on any lovely new things lately?
