If you’ve ever watched TV, chances are you’ve seen a Pretty Little Thing ad. Fun music, gorgeous girls, and celebration of curves!
Pretty Little Thing is a UK founded online fast fashion brand; owned by Umar and Adam Kamani. Their Dad founded Boohoo, a fast fashion behemoth. Apparently, the fashion is strong in this family!
At first glance, I’m not your obvious Pretty Little Thing customer. I’m in my 40s for starters! I’m old enough to have given birth to girls in their target market.
However, style is where you find it, so when Pretty Little Thing asked if I’d be interested in collaborating with them, I said yes please!
My measurements most consistently correspond to an Australian 16. That means I wear everything from a 12 to an 18. According to the Pretty Little Thing size charts, I am an 18. Luckily I don’t measure my self worth by the size on my label because the Pretty Little Thing 18 did not fit. I could get the pieces on so *technically* they fitted, but there was a looooot of cleavage and thigh on display. Like, a lot!
Pretty Little Thing arranged to send me some more dresses, and I’m going to share how I have styled them for four different occasions.

styled for work | snake print faux wrap dress
This little dress comes in grey and taupe snake print, and is a faux wrap dress. I love a faux wrap. The look without the hassle!
Featuring long sleeves and ruffles, it is super easy to wear. It is a stretch polyester jersey which means no ironing!
This dress is quite loose on me, but I found it comfortable and flattering. By pushing the sleeves up and pinning the bust crossover, I made it work for me. For a different occasion, the size down would work better with my curves for a sexier look!
I’ve styled it with gold accessories and nude tan ankle boots. Add a blazer and opaque tights and I’ll be winter ready!
styled for work | button through frill sleeve dress
This simple little dress is designed to be oversized for throw on and go style. I’ve styled it for weekend casual – or mama on the run – style by adding gingham skinny pants and cute sneaks.
The button through design would be perfect for feeding, and the sweet little ruffled sleeve detail is bang on trend. Made from non stretch woven polyester, it’s hard wearing and no need to iron!
Just add a long line sleeveless knit to style this for cooler weather.
styled for date night | polka dot kimono sleeve midi dress
Polkadots are au courant, but they’re never out of style in my wardrobe! This sweet little dress is made from stretch polyester jersey and features a plunge neckline, front split and flattering kimono sleeves. I’ve styled it without the waist tie as it didn’t sit in the right spot for me. #seewhatIdidthere
I’ve styled this dress for date night with cute little flats and statement pearl earrings. This dress is designed to be more bodycon than I’m wearing it. Not gonna lie, I felt quite fabulous in this dress!
styled for formal | floral print drape maxi dress
I’m imagining this fabulous dress for a Christmas ball or formal wedding. It’s a slip on dress fabricated in printed satin with a draped mid section and cross over bust. The dramatic train and draped sleeves take this dress next level.
This dress was a size too big for me but I’ve made it work with a little strategic pinning. The drape detail is so elegant and flattering to the figure. It will be even more flattering when I’ve had the chance to get it altered.
There’s nothing quite like the glamour of a train floating behind you as you glide across the floor!
Pretty Little Thing | my review
Pretty Little Thing is fast fashion, with equally fast delivery. The fabrics tend towards the polyester, but this means they’re hardwearing and don’t require expensive dry cleaning, and you won’t need to spend your time behind an ironing board! The prices are very reasonable – and there always seems to be a sale on!
I’ve shared my dress edit with you, but you can also get everything else you can imagine! From kawaii phone accessories to cult beauty brands to stylish activewear to on trend shoes and bags … and then there’s the clothing!
There’s a PLT range designed for the modern hourglass, and ranges for Petite, Plus and Tall women too.
My advice on sizing is to read the reviews and size up. If you’re after on trend seasonal fashion on a budget, then definitely give Pretty Little Thing a go!
