This sponsored post is brought to you by Target – and another huge happy grin!  I am thrilled to be an Official Target Blogger, sharing some of my favourite finds with you and bringing you the latest and greatest in Target news.

Last month, I shared my Footwear and Homewares picks – this month, it’s all about Women’s Spring Fashion.

However, I couldn’t resist a little sneaky peek at the new range of Target Homewares.  Spring has definitely sprung and I adored the retro cute Charlotte 3 Piece Tea Towel Set at $12 and the darling Doily 12 Piece Dinner Set at $30. Oh so pretty!

I had a wonderful couple of hours perusing the racks and displays at Target Broadway, my local Tarjay.  Props to the staff – I was warmly greeted at the door and offered assistance.  The lovely lady at the changing rooms insisted on putting my discarded items back on the hangers for me – I do always try to do it myself.  The checkout assistant was friendly and chatty.  They made me feel like a valued customer instead of an intrusion into their busy jobs.  So lovely!

I made sure I completed a feedback form and personally thanked the customer service greeter.  It’s not often you feel like a member of the family (or even welcome!) in many shops – there are quite a few Australian retailers who would do well to take notes, just quietly.

What I Bought

I went straight for Gok Wan’s latest Target fashion pick – the Secret Sculpt dresses.  I tried on a few varieties, but this Twist Front Dress at $59 with its little cap sleeve, uber flattering twist design and painterly monochromatic print ticked all of my boxes.  The neckline is a little higher than is usually flattering for those of us with EnormoBoobs but the cleverly shaped shoulders work beautifully to make the neckline a winner.

I usually steer clear of black and white, being attracted by colour on colour and pattern on pattern, but the cut of this dress was so flattering that it simply won me over.  It’s all down to the Secret Sculpt design – in Target’s own words “The Secret Sculpt dress has an inner lining which defines your waist, flattens your tummy and slims your hips thighs and bottom. Creating a smoother, slimmer and sleeker appearance instantly!”

Honestly, they had me at “defines your waist” – my number one figure flattering tip!

Whilst I was enthralled by all the gorgeously stylish women’s spring fashion tops, shirts, dresses and jeans, my wardrobe is already overflowing with those pieces, so I headed to the Target Footwear department to check out the trendy new season’s sandals.

I simply fell in love with the oh so lovely Messina Wedge Sandals at $40 in coral and beige .  I was momentarily swayed by the black and tan, but my love of colour won out!  These sandals have a closed back, which is fab for transitional seasonal dressing and a chunky strap across the toe.  I simply adore strappy sandals and love a retro cute peeptoe, but have trouble wearing them due to my Enormo Big Toe and tiny little toe.  There is nothing more uncomfortable than my little toe not quite fitting under the toe strap, except maybe my big toe getting rubbed by a narrow peeptoe!  These were cut perfectly for me.

The ankle strap is fully adjustable and is cut to flatter the legs and make walking comfortable.  Honestly, the amount of times I’ve tried on sandals only to realise I’ve been cut off visually at the ankles by a too high strap, or that I can’t flex my foot comfortably whilst walking due to a too high ankle strap!

My Women’s Spring Fashion Picks

The Target women’s spring fashion racks are simply awash with floral fabrics, ladylike loveliness, pretty pastels – and quite a lot of monochromatic black and white prints.  I was strangely drawn to the muted tones and monochromes – this is testament to how lovely the prints were and how well the Women’s spring fashion was merchandised in store, as I am the last person to ever voluntarily choose black and white.  I don’t like classic black handbags, and classic white hotel quality sheets, even in a five star hotel, don’t appeal to me.  It is all about colour for me – usually!

There are whimsical prints, like this Hot Options Floral Print Chambray Shirt at $39, this Hot Options Cameo Print Shirt at $35 and this Hot Options Moroccan Elephant Peplum Top at $25.  Fabulous Floral Print Skinny Jeans at $49 will work back with last season’s colour block tops, and are perfect for transition dressing between seasons.  Their ankle length cut is fab with ankle boots on a colder day, and equally fab with pretty summer sandals when the sun is shining!

I think I might be scarred from the 90s when office wear was all about the skirt suit, because when I read that they were coming back into fashion, I simply couldn’t imagine wearing one again.  Oh, way too matchy matchy!  However, when I spied this gorgeously classic Limited Editions Multi-Stripe Collarless Jacket at $89 and the matching equally gorgeously classic Limited Editions Multi-Stripe Pencil Skirt at $59, I was patting the fabric with delight!  The Chanel-esque cut of the jacket and the textural weave of the softly shimmering fabric would work back fabulously with summer dresses, but would totally rock when teamed with boyfriend jeans, a fitted top and statement sandals.  Love a modern twist on a classic piece!
