Statement Sweaters | Wardrobe Wednesday

I’m ridiculously excited that it’s finally cool enough in Sydney to bust out some knitwear.  Despite now being in my 40s, I’ve fallen in love with the cutesy pie quirkiness of statement sweaters.  I’ve found three particularly adorable statement sweaters to share with you for Wardrobe Wednesday.

Statement Sweaters | Next Bunny Sweater

Kimba Likes Statement Sweaters

Shop My Style | Kirbee Lawler Never Too Many Bunnies scarf and art print | Bohemian Traders Denim Distressed Boyfriend Jeans $100 | Karen Walker sterling silver Rabbit ring $59 | DC Shoes Spartan Hi Tops $70 on sale | Next Bunny Sweater $49

There is a distinct possibility that I’m going to receive this gorgeous Bunny Sweater for Mother’s Day this year.  OK, it’s a sure thing.  How do I know?  Because I bought it and then suggested to the Welshman that it might make a fabulous Mother’s Day gift.  Sorted!

I love the quirkiness of theming the accessories, with the Kirbee Lawler bunny scarf and Karen Walker Rabbit ring.  Bunnies just make me hoppy!  By teaming the DC Shoes hi tops with Bohemian Traders boyfriend jeans, I’m playing up the varsity styling of the statement sweater.  Add my geek chic spectacles and I’m dressed for the day!

Statement Sweaters | Target Free Fusion Unicorn Sweater

Kimba Likes Statement Sweaters

Shop My Style |  Free Fusion Unicorn Jumper from Target $24.50 on sale | Mary Kay products | ELES Cosmetics | Converse | cute backpacks | Colette Hayman Crystal Clutch $49.95 | Ko Fashion heels $40 on sale| Similar watch | Hot Options Quilt Trim Trackpants from Target $28 on sale | Hot Options PU Trackpants from Target $28 on sale | Nail polish options

Is this not the most whimsically fabulous statement sweater ever?  It is sparkly with a hot pink unicorn.  What more can one say except I slipped and fell on my credit card and made it my own!  Run don’t walk to grab one on sale for under $25!

I think it is perfectly fabulous dressed up with leather trackpants, metallic trimmed heels and a crystal clutch.  I also happen to think it equally fantastic dressed down for a busy day with grey marle trackpants (with a faux leather trimmed twist), classic Converse and a prettily practical backpack.

I’m also imagining it with boyfriend jeans and how sweet would it be with a full skirt, tights and brogues?

The awesome Marc Jacobs Beauty is exclusive to Sephora, the holy grail for the beauty obsessed.  It used to be available on Tarazz, but the fact that isn’t available anymore leads one to believe that the swirling rumours about Sephora opening in Australia in December this year Might Just Be True!  I know right!  The excitement!  Someone pass me my fainting couch.  In the meantime, I’m giving myself a manicure with these two fabulous Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer colours I picked up last year.  Shocking on the left and Fluorescent Beige on the right.

Statement Sweaters | Next Cat Sweater

Kimba Likes Statement Sweaters

Shop My Style | Next Cat Sweater $49 | Ruby Olive jewellery | Karen Walker sterling silver Cat Ring $59 | Sterling & Hyde leather loafers $89.95 | Blue Bungalow Pineapple Clutch (with tassels!) $39 | Endless Sun vintage-esque wool felt hat from Princess Polly $50 | Revlon Parfumerie Nail Enamel | Peter Morrissey PU Flare Skirt from Big W $21 on sale

We’ve covered flights of fancy unicorn lovers and crazy bunny ladies.  Now a statement sweater for the crazy cat ladies.  I’ve chosen some gorgeous eclectic pieces that shouldn’t work together, but just do.  It’s not matchy matchy but every piece coordinates with another piece in terms of colour or pattern or even theme.

I think this one is also for the pineapple obsessed with this gorgeous Blue Bungalow clutch.  Plus tassels.  I just adore tassels.  Terribly tempted to buy myself this Peter Morrissey flare skirt in PU too.  It is ridiculously bargainous at $21 on sale.  Online exclusive so hit the keyboards ladybugs.  The flare skirt is so hot this season, and teamed with the leather look, this piece is a winner.

Bonus Round | Next Direct Blog Slogan T-Shirt

Kimba Likes Statement Sweaters

Shop My Style | Next Blog Slogan T-shirt $28 | Ruby Olive jewellery | Bohemian Traders Denim Black Skinny Jeans $90 | Purple Mosaic Tassel Kimono* from Blue Bungalow $69 | Marc by Marc Jacobs iPhone cases | Jet Set Pets Katie Bunny Marc by Marc Jacobs iPhone case from Shopbop | Sterling & Hyde Jamelia bag | Ankle boots

OK, so it’s not strictly a statement sweater, but if you’re a blogger then you will totes adore this gorgeous t-shirt with a statement.  I’m kind of a big deal on my blog.  It’s true.  I have a t-shirt that says so.  Available in Navy and Ecru, which is a fancy pants word for creamy beige.

I bought mine oversized in Navy and just adore it.  I’ve worn it layered over my Bohemian Traders Denim skinny jeans and also a striped pencil skirt.  Now that the weather is a little cooler, a gorgeous piece like my Blue Bungalow tassel kimono is the perfect way to keep warm and still make a statement.  Plus tassels!

Of course, every blogger needs their smartphone to hand.  This gorgeous phone case by Marc by Marc Jacobs features lots of my favourite things – pink, London, bunnies and, of course, Marc Jacobs!  Way to make your smartphone even smarter, right?

Are you down with the cutesy statement sweater or way too cool for school?

Omg, I love that blogger t shirt! haha It’s great! 🙂 Also, you are too funny buying yourself a Mother’s Day gift. (You have excellent taste!) I think I may have to borrow your idea for my next birthday or Christmas gift. Seems like getting the stuff I’d like and then telling my boyfriend to give it to me is definitely the way to go. Why haven’t I thought of this before?!? ^_^

    • Kim-Marie - 8 May 2014 - 1.06 pm

It was very naughty of me, and my Blokefolk do have excellent taste. But … I really wanted this sweater and just couldn’t resist! Great excuse, right?ReplyCancel

I’m not sure if I’m the worst enabler … or the best … I guess it depends on how good your powers of resistance are! Comfy, cosy, knits – all words I plan to embrace xReplyCancel
