Which celebrity’s wardrobe would you most like to raid?

I didn’t have to think long about this question! I would LOVE to raid Khloe Kardashian’s wardrobe. I love Khloe – she is strong, independent, laughs at herself and her family and is a curvy and sexy woman. Her wardrobe is a massive room with over 230 pairs of heels {which along with her clothes are colour coordinated}, lounges, candles and every item is displayed like a showroom. My style is similar to Khloe’s in that we both mix and match feminine pieces with contrasting styles or prints with a love for leopard print and edgy details.

Which character’s wardrobe would you most like to raid? (TV, film, literary)?

Many people would expect me to say Carrie Bradshaw and, while I enjoyed the risks and theme dressing that defined her style, there are many outfits I would rather forget or leave on the rack. They were a bit too outrageous for me! {I admit I would enjoy borrowing some Manolo Blahniks, the pink Oscar De La Renta dress or the Abu Dhabi outfits} But the fictional character’s wardrobe I would most like to raid is Holly Golightly’s. Such an iconic wardrobe, with fabulous black dresses, gorgeous coats, opulent accessories {those pearl necklaces}, the wide brimmed hat with pink sash and that tasselled, embellished sleep mask.

What is your favourite colour combination du jour?

I love monochrome with a giant splash of colour.

What is one piece in your wardrobe that instantly makes you feel fabulous?

My vintage leather jacket purchased over a year ago from an online boutique. Probably my most worn item this winter and I’ll be wearing it through other seasons too. It adds instant edge and has a beautiful cut to it. I love to wear it to complement or contrast with an outfit. I feel strong, stylish and confident in it – like I could take on the world. Sometimes I wear it to remind me I am strong and capable. The inner lining is a little ripped and I am thinking of getting it replaced with a small floral or monochrome striped pattern.

What is your most loathed current style trend?

The tiny, ripped denim shorts that show off most, if not all, of the person’s bottom. I think it looks awful and not attractive. There are much better ways to dress and highlight your figure. Classy elegance is so much sexier.

What is your favourite current style trend?

I am currently loving bold prints, maxi dresses, scarves, blazers and statement accessories.

Which shop or label do you feel most sums up your style?

Hmm this is a difficult one! For makeup Australis Cosmetics – girly, feminine and a love of sparkle! As for clothes I am unsure as I buy from many different labels and shops. Forever 21 has many different styles feminine, casual, edgy, glam – a must visit when overseas!

Complete this sentence “Style is…”

Style is a way to express who you are without saying a word.

Share your fashion mantra

It is better to be overdressed than underdressed – you can pull off anything with confidence.  Not everything has to match – clashing prints, colours and textures can work too.  Costume jewellery is a must and there is always a reason to sparkle. Always dress for your body shape – you’ll feel comfortable and confident.

Describe your style in one sentence

My style is a mix of feminine, classic and edgy pieces – worn always with a dash of sparkle!

Where do you get your style inspiration from?

From women I see around town, family and friends, celebrities, movies/TV as well as places I have travelled to. I also am inspired by how I feel and love to create new outfits or looks. Most recently I have been inspired by the fashion, beauty and style loving community I am a part of that formed on Instagram due to style dares we participated in and has become this supportive and affirming network where we celebrate successes and comfort during lows.

Share your best ‘Champagne fashion on a sparkling wine budget’ tip

Costume jewellery is a worthwhile investment. Look to shops like Lovisa, Equip, Big W and Kmart for beautiful accessories. Different statement necklaces can make an outfit look completely different and are so affordable – means you can attempt different trends on a smaller scale. For fantastic headscarves look to opshops for small silk scarves – vintage and affordable!

What are your Holy Grail beauty products?

Complete Defence day and night moisturisers from Olay, Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser {good coverage with good colour tone, makes the skin glisten}, “They’re Real” Mascara from Benefit {makes eyelashes look very long, like they’ve been curled}, Paparazzi Perfect HD Blush from Australis {blended blush palette} and my signature perfume ‘Lovely’ by Sarah Jessica Parker.

Thank you so much, Sarah.  I shall definitely check out Forever 21 when I’m in LA! x
