Sussan Mix and Match | $100 Giveaway

Thanks to the fabulous folk at Brand Meets Blog and Sussan, I was lucky enough to receive a shopping voucher, and they also gave me a $100 shopping voucher for one very lucky reader to shop ’til they drop at one of my favourite Australian High Street stores, Sussan!

Somewhat unfairly, Sussan has had a bit of a nanna reputation in the past.  I’ve been on a bit of a personal crusade to change this image.  I probably wear Sussan a few times a week (and I have a mahoosive wardrobe – just ask the Welshman who has been forced to move his clothes to the spare bedroom!).  I’m always suggesting it as options for friends and styling clients.

Kimba Likes Sussan

I love Sussan!  Why?  It’s on trend but not painfully so.  Sussan take the best of the current trends and put it through the Real Girl filter, making sure their famous classics and basics are always available.  They offer good quality at decent prices.  Not sure exactly what looks best on you?  Their staff are friendly, and absolutely full of honest advice and styling options.  And there is always a sale rack, at ridonkulously reduced prices.

Not only is their sleepwear comfy and very well priced, it is something you wouldn’t feel uncomfortable getting caught in by unexpected knocks on the door!

Their accessories are bang on trend, and talk about bargainous!  Everything from earrings to scarves to handbags.

Need a gift for anyone from your boss to your bestie?  Sussan has the most amazing gift range in store – and not just at special occasion times like Xmas and Mother’s Day.  Some of the gifts I’ve purchased from Sussan have been a luggage tag for a 20s bloke, coordinated notebooks for a female acquaintance in her 30s, a gorgeous wooden jewellery tree and metal jewellery stand for my Gorgeous Girls.

There is now a maternity range – can’t comment, have no use for it whatsoever (phew!) but I have been hearing good things!

Kimba Likes Sussan | Shopping Experience

The timing for this post was smack bang in the midst of the fiesta we like to call school holidays. Somewhat bravely, some may say naively, I took two small boys out to lunch, fed them ice cream, took them to the movies and then declared we had a Mummy Job to do and took them shopping at Sussan.  Look, I like a bit of a challenge, so I decided to set the boys a task.  They had five minutes to walk around the store (carefully and quietly which they did beautifully) to choose something they thought I should buy with my shopping voucher.  This afforded me five minutes to do a quick snatch and grab myself – smart, huh?

Boyo, well versed in the art of shopping, was a fabulous personal stylist.  He fell in love with a gorgeous demitasse cup and saucer from the gift section, flatly turned down several of my own selections and declared that he wasn’t even looking at scarves because I definitely did not need another one.

His little mate was a little bit too cool for school and wasn’t keen on actually selecting items himself.  We headed to the change rooms with various pieces, where we had a Mexican standoff over two lovely cropped collarless printed jackets.  One little boy loved one; one little boy loved the other one.  In the end, as there was a further 50% off all sale items, I decided to buy both.

A pair of printed jersey pants, which I thought would be a great trans-seasonal piece, able to be dressed up or down, and fab for my upcoming overseas holiday, were declared to be fabulous!  Oh, I enquired, you like these?  I was somewhat deflated by the reply that they were the nicest pyjama pants they’d ever seen.  Back on the rack they went!

I am well known for my love of the coloured tight and Sussan make some of the best ones I’ve ever worn.  I picked up some gorgeous army green and cobalt blue ones, at the ridiculously reduced price of about $3.50 a pair.  I pay $4.00 for my chai latte!  Along with the tights, the two jackets and the demitasse cup, I bought a fun pair of hot pink crystal studs, chosen by Boyo’s mate, and a mix and match set of crystal bangles selected by Boyo.  A grand total of about $115 and one very happy Kimba and two very relieved small boys headed home for a Wii playoff.  The extremely polite sales assistant was very impressed with the boys.  Love that!

You’d better be sitting down for this Miss Kim-Marie because I’m picking the Smart Casual. I feel my usual style, that could easily be desribed as “Hasn’t-Got-A-Clue Casual” or “Slumming It Casual” could do with some jazzing up. I’m even not opposed to adding some colour into my dreary and dark wardrobe. Who’d have thunk it?ReplyCancel

  • Kylie Pearce - 31 July 2013 - 4.15 pm

  • Courtney - 31 July 2013 - 4.11 pm

Kimba… I am loving your smart casual pics.. why?? Because I am simply obsessed with patterned pants at the moent and that style looks uber comfy and cool. That candy twist jacket would work perfectly in the office or on the weekend, over a dress or with jeans. The print dress is perfect for spring bringing a bright pop of colour to the wardrobe and lets be honest who can say no to a tan handbag? Goes with everything and fits all my goodies in 😛 xReplyCancel

  • Michelle @ Raising Will - 30 July 2013 - 7.38 am

I adore the second set. I shop at Sussan for most of my clothing INCLUDING pjs! Bought their lace tank last spring because I loved it so much and it’s probably the most commented-on piece from my everyday wardrobe. Hence why I choose No. 2 – cant go past it’s lacey goodness – and the jacket!!! How cute! ReplyCancel
