The Butterfly Effect Laser Clinic | Giveaway!

You know how there’s a place in your neighbourhood that you drive past all the time and think to yourself, wow, that looks really interesting.  I really must go and check it out.  Or is that just me?

This happened to me recently with The Butterfly Effect Tattoo Removal and Laser Clinic, in Darling Street, Balmain.  It’s located next to another of my favourite local spots, Leona Edmiston Vintage boutique.

Georgie and Justine, the gorgeous girls of The Butterfly Effect Laser Clinic, invited me in for an Omnilux session.  I finally got to visit the chic space I’d been wondering about as I drove past, and pop my Omnilux cherry at the same time.

The Butterfly Effect Laser Clinic | let’s talk Omnilux

Omnilux is a medical device that works with the body’s own natural processes to counteract the ageing effects, utilising LED technology to heal and rejuvenate the skin.

As we age, all sorts of terrible things start happening to us.  One of the things that I’m really not liking is wrinkles and their ugly older brother, collapsing faces.  Double chins, marionette lines, jowls … ewwww!

These are caused by the breakdown of the cells that produce supportive structures in the skin.  The cells that pump out collagen and elastin that keep our skin plumped, wrinkles at bay and stop our skin sagging.

You know when you look at a baby and their skin is so smooth, so plump and perfect.  They’re not only chockful of breast milk and adorableness, but stuffed to the gunwales with collagen and other skin loving goodies.  Exactly the stuff that gives them that gorgeous velvety smooth skin.

Omnilux Light Therapy can’t give you baby skin, but this is what it can do! The three different wavelengths – infrared, red, and blue – promote healthy skin function, reduce fine lines, wrinkles and pore size, treat acne, rosacea and psoriasis, and reduce scarring. Omnilux Light Therapy also improves skin strength and elasticity, and helps to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, resulting in tighter, plumper skin texture and tone, and a more luminous, youthful complexion.

There was an added benefit to my Omnilux experience.  The LED light therapy not only plumped up my skin but rejuvenated my mood as well.  There is something about being bathed in a warm glow that relaxed and calmed me.  Honestly, even if it didn’t do anything for my skin (it SO does!), I’d go back just for this.  It was blissful.

The treatment takes about 20 minutes, once skin has been cleansed and prepped.  Goggles are applied to the eyes and the device is positioned near your face.

At first, the bright red coloured lamp felt like a kaleidoscope on my eyes.  It was quite intense at the beginning, but not at all painful.  The light mellowed out and a sense of wellbeing came over me.  I even drifted off for a few minutes.

Afterwards, a light makeup using the fab Elizabeth Arden PRO range was applied.  Don’t you love that? So many places expect you to walk out with dorky hair and bare skin.

The cost is $100 per session.  Just one session can continue to improve the skin for some months afterwards.  A series of 4-8 treatments are usually recommended, but it does depend on the skin.  They’ll totally help you out with that.

Keep an eye on The Butterfly Effect Laser Clinic Facebook page, as they offer special deals all the time.  At the moment, buy two treatments and get one free.  I’m totes taking them up on that one.

I always feel a little ripped off after a facial.  I don’t really like massage all that much, there’s the issue of steamed hair and makeup-free skin to deal with afterwards, and usually it’s really just a fancy cleanse, tone, masque and moisturise.  Honestly, I’d rather buy the salon-quality products myself and do it at home.

However, with Omnilux, I saw an improvement after one session.  It is something that can’t be done out of the salon and actually has lasting benefits.  Colour me impressed!

Ooh, I love the look of that! I am the same as you about facials. I go in, they tell me how terribly my skin is and how many thousands of bucks worth of products I need, slather me with stuff and send me out the door looking ghastly. But Omnilux, I think I’d like to try that! I’ll enter your comp and pass on to a Sydney friend if I win, if that’s okay. xReplyCancel

Of course you can! People always look at me a bit strangely when such a girly girl says she doesn’t like facials. I’m glad I’m not the only one!ReplyCancel
