Time Saving Manicure Tips

Kimba Likes Easy Peasy Nail Tips // Essie Instant Dry Oil

One of the things I enjoyed most about our little holiday to Eaglereach Wilderness Resort was having perfectly manicured and pedicured nails.  I didn’t really need them to go yabbying or relax in the spa-with-a-view on our verandah or walking along dusty tracks.

But I had that essential for a perfect manicure and pedicure.  Time!

When I awoke earlier than the Blokefolk, I’d take myself, my Kindle and my nail kit into the lounge room, where I’d watch the sun come up and the mist clear over the valley.  A great time to extend the life of my mani by adding another layer of colour or a top coat.

Often when we return from holiday, I feel like I need another to recover.  This holiday was the perfect combination of family fun activities and just plain good old fashioned R&R.  Hours of proper sitting.  Lounging even.  We got through hours of movies and DVD box sets and book after book.  Exactly what you need to properly “cure” a manicure.

Time Saving Manicure Tips | Essie Instant Dry Oil

I often have the time to prep my nails or paint my nails or dry my nails, but I very rarely have the time to sit still long enough to prep, paint and dry all in one go.  I usually find myself prepping my nails one evening, painting them the following day when I’ve managed to carve out a bit of Sitting Time.  Followed by crossing my fingers (albeit very carefully) that they dry without smudges.

Enter Essie Instant Dry Oil.  I bought this little miracle worker in Palm Springs in 2013 when I needed to visit a Walgreens to stock up on emergency lady products.  Of course, I couldn’t resist a few beauty treats too.  I’m only human.

I purchased the Essie Instant Dry Oil thinking it was a top coat, and was quite surprised when it was so liquid.  After a little experimentation and Google research, I discovered the miracle worker properties.

Complete your manicure – base coat, lacquer, top coat – and then whack a layer of Essie Instant Dry Oil over the top.  Your fingers will feel oily, which takes a bit of getting used to.  It’s not an instantaneous effect – you will still need to sit for a good 5-10 minutes and be careful with movements and activities.  I’ve put it on seconds before I’ve run out of my house, managed to lock the door and drive to my destination with nary a chip, dent nor smudge!

How the Essie Dry Oil works is by adding a layer of protective “slip” to your nails.  Those little dents, nicks and smudges will be a thing of the past.  Any little bumps, that would previously lead to a smudge requiring a do over, just literally slide right over your nail.  The mineral oil blend accelerates drying and gives you instant “touch proof” nails.

It’s not rocket science.  It’s not hi tech.  It’s incredibly simple and it works!

I’ve found it quite hard to track down in Australia but you can shop it here or eBay.

I’ve heard good things also about Mavala Oil Seal Dryer.  Shop it here

Time Saving Manicure Tips | MICRO Nail

I was introduced to the MICRO Nail beauty tool last year, and have been playing with it for a while.  It is a battery operated buffer, which leaves your nails with the most incredible natural shine.  I received mine as a gift.  It passes the Kimba Likes test (would I buy it with my own money and do I think you ladybugs would like it) with flying colours!

It comes with two rollers – MICRO Smooth and Micro Shine.  The Smooth roller removes ridges and bumps in seconds.  In fact, that’s the recommendation.  Two seconds per nail once every two weeks.  The Shine roller is where the magic happens.  Just a few seconds of application per nail and it’s like you’ve had a professional buff.  Your nails shine naturally for up to two weeks.

It is perfect for when you want to look polished but just don’t have the time to polish your nails.  See what I did there?

The perfectly buffed nail is also a great base for an even longer lasting manicure.  If I get the time to do my nails, I want them to last!

Shop MICRO Nail here for $59.99 or buy two and receive $20 off

I wish I had more time to do my nails… Correction. I wish I had more time to have my nails DONE! I much prefer a professional mani as it looks perfect and gives me the chance to sit there and do absolutely nothing for 30 minutes. Bliss!ReplyCancel
