Wearing off the shoulder

Wearing off the shoulder dress - City Chic skater dress, Seed Heritage rose gold belt, Portmans flats, Rebecca Minkoff bag

Off the shoulder is a look I love. I adore that this style is so hot right now.  That means there are lots of options for lots of different figures, occasions and styles, not to mention budgets.  Love that!

How to wear off the shoulder with big boobs

However, it can be a difficult style for ladies with EnormoBoobs.  If you’re not willing to invest the time (and money) into buying yourself the perfect strapless bra, then you can try the cold shoulder style.  This will give you the off the shoulder look yet has fabric to cover your bra straps.

I’ve found my perfect strapless bra – the Adore Strapless from City Chic.  It’s only $49.95, and if you’re a City Chic VIP, you can buy one get one free all year long!  Click here to shop

Plus I’ve got a great tip for wearing a strapless bra and feeling comfortable.  Yes, it’s true!  My trick for wearing a strapless bra is to buy it one size too big.  It gives you more versatility to position the back strap higher or lower to suit the outfit.  Plus, if you’ve got EnormoBoobs, having a little extra room in the cups prevents side spillage.  Not a good look!

The Kimba Likes life hack for wearing a strapless bra in comfort is to apply a layer of anti-chafing cream on your skin where the band sits.  This means the silicon band sits on the cream, not on  your skin.  Your bra stays up but you avoid red marks.  Perfect!

Off the Shoulder | what I wore for the Welshman’s birthday

For the Welshman’s birthday, we visited The Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay.  The location is gorgeous, overlooking the fabulous ANZAC Bridge, and the tough pretty of the Sydney Fish Markets.

I wanted to wear something pretty, comfortable and colourful. My City Chic off the shoulder skater dress was the perfect choice.

I felt demurely sexy – perfect for a date with the Welshman AND Boyo!  The jersey stretch was comfortable, and the divine colour did all the hard work for me.  No need for a necklace or elaborate makeup.  I kept it simply pretty with nude rose gold tones.

I accessorised with simple Mimco chain cuffs, Seed rose gold belt, nude and rose gold Portmans d’orsay flats, rose gold diamante ear jackets from Adorne, and my Rebecca Minkoff navy quilted clutch.

I love how metallics all work together – no need to matchy matchy the hell out of yourself.  By keeping all my accessories with metallic elements, they all coordinate without matching.  Love that!

Blue could just about be my favourite colour. I love how all hues, from the palest baby blue to the brightest cobalt to the darkest ink navy, just love each other.  I could have carried a metallic clutch, but I love a little bit of unexpected in my style.  The navy and cobalt hang out together like BFFs and a bottle of Champagne.

Speaking of matchy matchy, my Metalicus cape coordinated perfectly with the nude tone of my leather flats.  Throw on and go and look like you’ve made an effort (without expending any effort at all).  It’s the secret to my style!

The Welshman and Boyo - dressed up for a family birthday lunch

The Welshman wore his birthday pressie Sportscraft Hawaiian shirt with Levi’s,  Jones the Bootmaker blue suede shoes and the gorgeous Jan Logan bracelet I bought him for our leather wedding anniversary.

Boyo wore a Jay Jays cotton shirt, Cotton On drop crotch chino joggers and Vans, accessorised with his cool shades he bought in LA and his Vivienne Westwood man bag. Too cool for school!

What a handsome pair of chaps!
