What I Wore : Brown Sugar Printed Jacket

I’m very honoured to be a Brown Sugar Brand Ambassador – an iconic Australian company that is suited perfectly to my lifestyle.  Today I’m sharing What I Wore, featuring this gorgeous printed jacket from Brown Sugar.

This time of year has been particularly difficult to dress for.  The weather in Sydney seems to switch between quite hot, then quite cold, yet it always seems to be sticky no matter what the temperature.  Layering is the only answer!

Work outfit

I’m dressed in a symphony of blue today.  I’ve teamed a navy cotton Johnston & Bell puff ball skirt with blue Leona Edmiston Pins leggings, a navy patent Marni leather belt and a ruffled ink navy Country Road tank.  I’m carrying a Sussan blue tote, featured in my recent Bagvember adventures.  The gorgeous multicoloured hues of the Brown Sugar jacket contrasts perfectly with the base colour of different shades of blue.

I’ve accessorised with a red Mimco hairbow and a gorgeous Mimco Lovebirds necklace for a hint of sparkly whimsy.  My favourite Wittner petal sandals in cream leather have been pressed into service yet again.

Meeting the lovely Carly from Confessions of a 30 Something Woman

In the midst of an extremely busy and stressful day, I managed to sneak away from the office to the oasis of the Victoria Room Tea Salon at Westfield Sydney, to have a cup of tea and some delicious nibbles with the lovely Carly from Confessions of a 30 Something Woman.  I’m delighted to report that she is just as engaging, funny and sweet in real life as she is on social media, and a real go getter.  I was so impressed with her life plan and work ethic, and her commitment to making a better life for her family.  Lovely to meet you, Carly!

How are you coping with the fluctuating weather?  Is layering your new BFF too?

In the interests of keeping it real, I am a Brown Sugar Brand Ambassador, which means I receive discounted and gifted items, as well as payment.  However, Kimba Likes Brown Sugar, or I would not have agreed to work with this brand. You can trust Kimba Likes to keep it real!

That is a gorgeous jacket and I loved the outfit, though way to hot to try it up here.ReplyCancel

The whole outfit looks amazing Kimba. I honestly would not have picked that jacket but seeing it on you…I might change my mind. 😉ReplyCancel

I was drawn to the colours first and then the cropped shape with three quarter sleeves. The collar and lack of lapels works really well with big boobs too.

If I’ve made you reconsider, then my job here is done! xReplyCancel

Jacket looks great on you! I can’t wait for you to take me shopping in the new year 🙂 Wish I could have joined you for a cuppa with Carly – I ended up having to cancel drinks last night due to my grizzly children 🙁ReplyCancel

I didn’t think the jacket was “all that” in the pic on it’s own, but when I saw your whole outfit – WOW! It just goes to show you never know how something truly looks until you try it on and put it with a matching outfit! I love it!ReplyCancel

Yup, that’s a good point. I think it’s something that online stores could consider – having photos of their pieces like they are above, but also on a model and in outfits.ReplyCancel

Congrats on being a brand ambassador for Brown Sugar! Have been hearing their name pop up a bit lately from bloggers – will have to check them out! The jacket and outfit look great by the way – you’re spot on about the need for layering in Sydney at the moment.ReplyCancel

Thank you – I’m very excited and proud! I hadn’t realised that they’ve been around since 1975. Almost as vintage as moi! xReplyCancel

That jacket is too cool. I love it!

This Sydney weather is driving me nuts at the moment. I’m not too fussed about myself, but knowing what to dress Mia in is hard as she can’t tell me if she is hot or cold. I’m over it!ReplyCancel

I always found the best way to test a little person’s temperature is to feel the back of their neck. Easier to access than their tummy which is what the baby nurse told me. Then just carry layers like a packhorse! 🙂ReplyCancel

You are far too kind! I think you have a pretty snazzy little plan you are about to put in place yourself.
The jacket is even more amazing in real life. I couldn’t agree more with the layering, my body has been in a bit of shock with this weather after flying in from Dubai!
Thanks again for a wonderful meet-up and enjoy every moment of your next steps.ReplyCancel

It was lovely to meet you, Carly. Definitely a shock after Dubai, I should imagine. Allegedly it is summer. I’m just a bit tired of grey skies.ReplyCancel
