Hola! Welcome to the first Wardrobe Wednesday of 2015. We have a new Wardrobe Wednesday logo too – you like? You can grab it here if you like.
Christmas Style | Christmas Eve
We had a gorgeous Christmas festival. The Welshman had Christmas Eve off for the first time in years, so our celebrations kicked off early. We also got organised incredibly early too. He was home from the supermarket before I was even out of my pyjamas. My Christmas Eve tradition of wrapping the presents late into the night whilst watching Love Actually was foiled by Mr Organised, who marshalled the troops to get it done early.
So we had to spend the evening drinking Champagne and watching Love Actually instead. I think it’s a tradition we could get used to!
I wore a Katies*^ maxi dress with Mimco sandals.
Christmas Style | Christmas Day
Ever since Boyo was born, we’ve had a lovely family tradition of Christmas with just the three of us. We used to host expat parties, but now we just love a family day. We spend all day playing with Christmas gifts, watching new DVDs, eating Christmas chocolate and hanging out.
Our first family Christmas was spent at Cradle Mountain Lodge in Tasmania, featuring 2 minutes of snow (yes! snow! in Australia in the summer!) and a power chuck from baby Boyo. He turned his nose up at the organic ham & carrot baby food I toted across the country for his first Christmas dinner.
I wore a gorgeous Timeless by Vannessa Tong 50s style dress with Sambag ballet flats, Sass & Bide belt (coordinates beautifully, doesn’t it), and Christmas gifts. Namely, a leather & crystal necklace from my brother- and sister-in-law in the UK, Alannah Hill hairbow and Robert Young sterling silver heart earrings. I wore Chatterbox by MAC lipstick.
Christmas Style | Boxing Day
On Boxing Day, we headed to our friends-who-are-family for our annual Boxing Day event. We take it in turns to provide the mains and desserts. We were on mains this year, by which I mean the Welshman was. He barbecued some spicy chicken, took a ham, made a Moroccan carrot salad and a couscous salad, using basil I grew. So I’m totes claiming that as a contribution.
I debuted my Three Parsons jumpsuit from the Summer 14/15 collection – a gorgeous Christmas gift from Three Parsons. I’m the lucky one, aren’t I? I’m channeling a little Styling You Model & Me action here.
I teamed it with my green suede sandals from OzSale. An unfortunately festive foot combo with my red pedicure! My Christmas earrings and necklace got another run. I plaited, twisted and pinned my hair for a change.
Just love this family photo. I’m getting it framed and copies printed for our family overseas. It’s so us!
Christmas Style | day after Boxing Day
Our Christmas party extravaganza concluded with a final party with my BFF. Lamb lollipops, lots of wine, lots of dancing, lots of laughs and I think I even agreed to go camping in April for Boyo’s birthday. Dear. Gods. I consider a four star hotel to be camping, and I’ve agreed to blow up mattresses, camping, cooking on a barbecue and a shower block. Thank all the gods, old and new, that there’s not a long drop to bring into the equation. All together now … ewwwwww!
I wore another Three Parsons ensemble – from the Summer 13/14 collection. Run don’t walk to grab my entire outfit on sale for $70.
Love my mustard leather & cork wedge sandals from Zomp Shoez. They’re cute and comfy, and I couldn’t love them more.
I absolutely loved my festive season, but I have to tell you how relieved I was when it was over! I needed a holiday after my holiday. How was your Christmas?
